As I think bogies would be 8ft wheelbase I would probably use some of the Hornby short bogie as used in SR/GWR coaches from 1970/80s. Standard Hornby coach wheels but not the ones with square axles(ringield era( as back to backs can be a problem.

Back in the day I obtained some 7mm coaches from the shapeways site and spend weeks trying to get a smooth finish for painting. I’m thinking of getting your tube stock vehicles to print in Canada and I wonder if your files will work on a SLA printer, which I believe will allow for a smooth surface. Should I go ahead?

I can not be certain but as long as it can print a large model then give it a try. From other comments I believe my designs result in good models, but that is dependant on printer used and how it is set up.

Hi there. I hope this finds you well. Firstly - awesome collection of designs 🙂 I printed some Chaldron wagons to use with my Locomotion No.1 and they look great with a little weathering.

I understand that commercial use is prohibited as per your license. Do you ever offer a license to sell or distribute?

Thank you 🙂

Hi,thanks for the compliment. Managng commercial licencing can be difficult which is why I have not set it up . My original idea was to sell off the complete collection of designs but no-one or no group has come forward yet.

That's fair. You need to look out for your own interests. You have some amazing designs. I asked about the chaldrons because they came out so wonderfully - I know I will have people asking when they see them on my layout.

Keep up the awesome work 🙂

Please pass on my website to anyone interesed in my designs. Have you done any exhibitions? I remember seeing some S&D at York in 2025 as part of 200 year anniversary

I have not done chassis or trucks .not sure which trucks/bogies
bodies are designed to fit a simple plate chassis and detail can then be added . trucks could then be fitted to ths simple chassis.

any chance of doing a brush class 60

sorry no. I am not planning any new loco designs and prefer older designs. Diesels also tended to be more difficult than steam locos .

Hello, I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, and I'm looking at your print designs, and I notice that 99.9% of your rolling stock has no floor or base. I understand that bogies and wheels are to be sourced because they are not included in the files, but it is very hard to attach without a floor/base. Also, what about seats and other bits and pieces for the inside of a passenger carriage? This is what I was looking at:- https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/district-line-o-and-p-q38-non-driving-trailer-1-76-scale

Hi
All my coach designs inlude a lip inside body. A simple recangle of plastic or card can then be inserted and ogies can then be fitted to this. This detachable chassis can then be built and tested separate to the body. For railcars ,DMUs and EMUs these can also be motorized.
as for interiors I do not do them partly as detailed information is rare and also adjustments would be required for different scales due to wall thickness.

Many thanks for your quick reply, I'm so sorry you don't create interior seating, I ask because I'm a total newbe and to be honest, as someone in their mid 70's, it's a steep learning curve for me to create my own.

Many kits in the past included generic style seating strips. I think Ratio may have done some. These could then be cut to ]ength. Peco now offer coach seating for oo coaches.

I just purchased Design 3276595 BR class 41 1/76 I did not realize that it would not fit my printer. Could you refund please
Gary Smith

you should be able to request reunds directly. Also if you can angle upwards it should it but there will be a lot of supports.

just seen refund option and done it. I trust you will delete file. If you discover you can print file, please order another copy.

OK. Thanks for that info.

Hi, would it be possible for you to upload the file for the loco only part of the L&Y Railmotor in 4mm scale please? Seem to think you had it available on Shapeways but I might be mis-remembering.
Thanks
Jim

not really that easy as I am trying to only offer files I had on Shapeways as they passed pre print tests. I think I only did the loco separate in larger scales. Also I think the file containing loco and carriage parts is same cost as for only loco and design can be split as it is only connected using small pegs.

Re 1:32 scale LNER silver jubliee cariages do they have interiors ?
Or do you do one if not please

sorry no interiors. Mainly because no published drawings.

Hello. I was considering purchasing the Bullied 2-8-2 loco and I wanted to know if it was designed with an rtr chassis in mind. If so what modifications are necessary?

nothing specific. Partly because my designs are offered in a range of scales and r2r chassis if available can change or become unavailable. I believe that at time I did design someone was planning to adapt a Hornby P2 chassis but never head if it was successful. Obviously for accuracy SR Bulleid wheels would be required.

I've bought your h type tank wagon file. When I've downloaded and unzipped it, it appears to be be only bogies for a d type wagon. I had wanted it in 1.76

There are two zip files to download. The second contains wagon body

Sorry first download and I selected wrong scale 1/43, should of been 1/148, regards Mike,

PS liking the 3D prints Tube Stock

Hi there.
I tried printing one of your Co-Cp district line coaches off in N gauge but all I got was the support. thats not how I remember them:)
I am new to this could you offer some help with what I am doing wrong?
Kind regards

on looking at files you have downloaded I notice they are all at bigger scales. My designs are offered in different scales to suit specific scales. Reducing a design in 1/32 scale to N scale would result in virtually zero thickness walls. For more information on scales offered please have a look at my website https://www.rue-d-etropal.com/

Thank you for your reply as I say I'm new to this and what I'll do is I'll go back in and get the n gauge versions

thats a shame i helped to build them and they are the last all British built and designed loco made in this country

have you a file or thinking of an stl file for a brush class 60 co,co diesel locomotive

sorry that is not one I have done . I currently have no plans to do more locos.

Hi.not sure how wrong files were zipped and uploaded but stl files now zipped and uploaded.

Hi @recreation21,

I just purchased and downloaded 3 of your 3D models from Cults3D (via rue-d-etropal.com), but I'm having an issue with one of the files.

The "London Transport c69 and c77 stock Trailer Coach (modified) 1/76 scale" file is missing when I click to download it. The other scale sizes are downloading fine, but the 1/76 scale version doesn't appear to be available.

Could you please re-upload this file? I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Not sure what happened here. For some reason the original upload to Cults was not completed. Have now uploaded files.

Hi
Love the new tracks but i Think you got the wrong file in this.
OO/HO Tram track curved point 204r right hand
the file here is for the ordinary right hand point and not the curved.

Best Regards Richard

ok thanks, fixed now

Hi
How are you?
I am Richard from Sweden and i found your 3d files for tram tracks (16.5mm) here in the end of December and bougt almost all files and have tried them out and i must say i Really love them all.

I am a member in the Swedish Tramway sociaty "Svenska Spårvägssällskapet" And i am Active in our local club in Stockholm Where we take care of the old trams on "Spårväg City" Line 7N in the central of the city.
I am Active both as a repair men but also as a leader for the "Juniorsektionen" the youth section. ande we are bilding a new modeltramway layout.
and we tried out your traack to the Open house event we had the 6/1 this year and build one Modul up in under one day whit it and the kids loved it.
so now we have started the new 4 moduls that will be whit your track profiles only.

And i know what it says in your automated messege here above but we feel that we miss some parts that whud be really nice to have.
here is what we feel is missing and if it whud be a posibility for you in the future to make this we whud apriciate it.

-Point r204mm (you have the outer 250mm Point but not the inner one)
- Short point (The short Y point whud be really nice to have as a ordinary Point to whit 204mm radius)
-Curve r204/250mm in 45 degrees just as it is in the dubbel turnouts and the dubbel Y turnout. or a 15degree turn to compliment the ordinary 30degree turns that are now.
-3 way Point (so it is posible to make a Grand Junktion and other fun parts.
-Curved Points in 204/250mm Radius
- a curved segment to your long Y point for the dubbel Ypoint/Tsection so it whud be posible to use that point also for a singel Y point in a T section

And ofcours also smaler Radius for the ordinary curved Track like r180 and r134mm. Or r204 and r158mm
I also downloaded your 10cm radius curv and point but sadly i have no program to be able to open the file so i can slice it för my 3d printers :(
So it whud be nice if they whud be able to download in an Ordinary file format to as all your other tracks.

I really love your tracks and we had several visitors that got really interested in yor tracks.

And today we have learnd to build our first working switch whit your tracks from Scratch and it worked superb.

Best regards Richard Gällhagen from Sweden

thank you for mesage. Pleased to hear you have found my designs work so well. I only uploaded files for the designs I had on Shapeways but was looking at doing more track designs before I started uploaed to Cults and put themon pause while I did the uploads. I did look at doing beskoe designs for specifiv]c locations but time is an issue as I am now in effect retired.
I will look at your suggestions. I think I did look at a 3 way point and curved points.
When I did the original designs I made them more complicated than needed and made the processing almost too complex for my computer so any new designs will have to be less complicated wthout losing anything visual .
I know quite a few of the leading tramway modellers here in the UK, including John Whitehouse who runs one of the main model tram businesses and organises an annual exhibition in Blackpool. My main interest for inset track is for industrial railways but was able to use same design processes to do something for tram track .
All my current designs can be found on my own website www.rue-d-etropal.com which also has my email details.

Sorry to be a pain, but regarding your comments on printers I have decided that initially it might be best to get a couple of the Q stock printed at the company you suggest! It appears there are a number of different materials that can be chosen and maybe other variables, could you please tell me what is the best material and any other variables I need to know?
Kind regards, Peter

There are a lot of companies offering 3d printing. My only issue with Shapeways and any non UK base company is cost of postage. Material used is partly depending on size of model. one of the materials shapeways use is not liked by some as it has a rough surface resulting from the nylon particles being attraced to the still warm printed material.

I am lucky to have a local 3d print shop so can get things printed for myself. Also if there are any issues I can talk through options with the owner.

Hello have you modeled any singular 61ft 6in Gresley Teak standard corridor coaches?

I don't thinkI did any standard coaches but my range can be seen on my own website www.rue-d-etropal.com with direst links to Cults

I am amazed at your collection on this site, consequently I am very keen to print your London Transport carriages! Can you suggest what 3D printer would be best to buy that would work with these model carriages, (for a home printing environment). Also are there models of the underfloor and the bogies for use with these models.
Kind regards, Peter Hopkins

I am no expert concerning printers. all my designs were done over a ten year period to print at Shapeways. I beleve Bamboo printers are good but might be best to ask around as quite a lot of people have done successful prints from my files.
I have not done anything for underframes ets. My coaches have a ridge inside so creating a simple chassis plate fitted to bogies is suggested method.

Thanks again for sharing your large collection of 3DP models. Do you have any more North American models left to post? Many thanks!

I worked through all the related North American designs and am now trying to retire to do other things.
