Do you do a comercial licence for your designs?

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. I do not offer a commercial license at this time

I just downloaded your Dice box file and it work great for me. I've printed three so far and they look and work amazingly. I was wondering if I might be able to get permission to sell these on my etsy store. Pls let me know if that would be acceptable.

Hi, thank you so much! Unfortunately I do not offer a commercial license at this time

The parts don’t work, there is not enough space.

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. I will check the tolerances this week.

the gear frames are not the same on the STL files as shown and nothing fits together.

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. I will check the tolerances this week.

NO RECOMIENDO ESTE ARCHIVO YA QUE ESTA TOTALMENTE FALLADO. ES UN ROBO VENDER ESTO FALLADO

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. I will check the tolerances this week.

Hola, sabes que imprimiel archivo con las especificaciones, pero nada encastra con nada... como puedo hacer?

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. I will check the tolerances this week.

Hi, I have down loaded and printed the spinning box, but i have a problem with the increased small gear as there is a triangle hole for the tops i cannot get them to fit even though i i am pushing hard, i have noticed that inside the small gear top hole that one side wall is on a slant i dont know if this is intended but the top doe not sit deep enough and sit crooked because of the slant on one sideand that does dose give to allow to push top on and there is no real adhesios if i super glus the top on please can you advice or remodle the small gear increased so that there is no slant inside top of gear wall so the top fits better

Hi, thank you for getting in touch. I will check the tolerances this week.

I also am having an insanely annoying time getting the top ring on. I'm on my 4th ring and 2nd "Gear Frame."

The triangular pegs on the gear frame just SNAP OFF rather than slide into the slots.

Can you rework it so the pegs are on the ring, so when I have to inevitably reprint it it's less plastic? Or shrink the pegs by a couple percent.

My son was very excited about this. We're both just frustrated now.

Hi, thanks for letting me know. I can check the files tonight and adjust the size of those pegs.

Hi, I apologize but I haven't gotten a chance to look at the files yet. One thing that might help is printing the top ring upside down. The slots end up having more room because there is no bridging

we spoke a while back i just downloaded it again and still can not get this top ring to slide on. I have tried this on 3 different printers now, what am i doing wrong

Très sympa votre petite boite à dés !
Merci !

Hello, I was able to put the box together long time ago, and lost the file. but with the new design you have uploaded i can't put on the top ring, it does not slide in in the small part. would you mind to make it a bit larger ? thank you ! i am not really good with fusion360 so I don't know how to do it.

Hey thanks for reaching out. When did you first download the file? I could probably reupload that version

why not making the rail on the top ring a bit larger :)

I’ll try if I have the time 👍
Did you print the top ring with the rails facing up? I’ve noticed that’s usually a better fit.

Yes I did :) it is a bit tiny i guess that 0.5mm would be enough all the rest fit perfectly,

Hello,

I really enjoy this download. I'm on my second print of it now and trying to paint it. (I'm horrible at painting.)

Anyway, I was wondering if I could get your permission to sell this print? I will tag you in any posts of it. I am a new home made dice seller and was hoping to use these to boost my market.

Thank you,
Dice Syndicate

Hi, sorry, I do not offer a commercial license at this time

Is there a trick to preventing the nubs on the top of the gear frame from breaking off when attaching the top ring? I can just super glue the ring in place, but I would prefer if those nubs just didn't break in the first place. I'm following your instructions for slicer settings as closely as I can, but I can't find things like "small perimeter" in Cura 5.1, so I don't know if there's something obvious that I'm missing or not. Here's a picture of the issue, for clarification: https://imgur.com/a/ZHou9tv

Thanks for attaching the image. I'll try to update the file tonight to widen the nubs and also I'll add rounded corners so they're less likely to shear off.

Amazing, thank you so much! I just contributed to your Kickstarter, I'm really excited by how how close you are to meeting your goal!

Thanks! Excited here too. I just finished making those edits and am doing a test print here. If it works I’ll try to push an update tomorrow

The interlocking between "Small Gear" and "Gear frame" is better.
Now we need to enlarge the hole for the "Triangle" :)

Hi, are you sure to have sent the good file ?
I print "Small gear" and "Small Gear Looser Tolerance" but they seems identical...

Ah, thanks - I meant to increase the radius by .1 but accidentally increased the diameter, so the change is tiny

Just uploaded a new file - try that one

Hi,

any idea when you will update the small gers file with bigger hole ?

Thank you :)

I can't wait to see this kickstarter project :)

Hi, just uploaded a new gear file, let me know if it works better! Thanks, I'm excited too. Just finished filming the video this weekend 👍

Hello,
thank you for this nice project and this good idea :)

Is it possible to enlarge a little bit the holes of the "Small Gers"?
Because when you try to fit them in the "Gear Frame", it's impossible to turn, it breaks.
Also, to fit the "Triangle" in...
If I had to choose, I would rather put a glue point than break everything by forcing the fitting...

Thank you

Hi, thanks for the feedback and for getting in touch! I will try to upload a small gear file with slightly bigger holes tomorrow. I think I might upload a few options like .1 tolerance, .2 tolerance, etc to give people options.

Thanks,
Mike

Thank you so much, it would be really appreciated!
With a "Small Gear" at 92% and a "Gear Frame" at 90%, it doesn't need to be forced too much.
However, with the triangle, even so, you have to force a lot, I think you need 95%...

Hi, I somehow missed this. Let me see what I can do

Hi how is it going. I had a question about the gear frame part. do you need to add support for that piece and if you do what settings do you use for support?

Hi, thanks for reaching out! No supports necessary for that part

How do you get the base and the gear base to slide together so smoothly?

I think it comes down to every printer - I adjusted it to work well on mine. I’m hearing from multiple people that it might be a tad too tight. Might increase the clearance between those parts later this week.

no matter how i print this i can not get the Gear top on

Hey, thanks for getting in touch. Do you mean the top ring? Happy to help.

Its the part that slides on pegs i guess its the top ring

What orientation are you printing that part? I find it works best if printed top-down.

so flip it so the holes are up top on on the bed ?

i tried what i think you said. it still does not fit

Can you send some pictures to Mikhail.d.shapiro@gmail.com?

i gave up printing. I wasted Alot of Filament

Sorry

Wish I could provide a refund through Cults3d

No need. It was cheap enough. I really like the idea but i just cant it built its a shame

Hola me gustaria saber en que orden me resultaria mejor imprimir las piezas

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. The orientation I would print them in would be:

Upside Down:
Trinagles, Top Ring
Right Side Up:
Base, Gear Frame, Gears

What keep the base from falling off if you were to pick it up by the ring? Something I'm missing? Or is it, it is what it is?

Hey thanks for reaching out, the gear frame is supposed to snap onto the ring at the top of the base. That holds them together

Hello I have a question on which parts in the file to use some make sense they say V2.
If I am using V2 items which of the following should I print: Gear Stopper V2, Spur Gear V2 or Spur Gear with Partial Fillet?

Also unrelated to that your pictures look like they are two colors for say triangle, I assume that is because you have dual extruder or paused print and changed filament?

Thanks for your time and work.

Hey, thanks for getting in touch! Spur Gear V2 would be the one to use. The color changes were done using a mid-print filament swap

Hi, I wanted to reach out to you with a question. I made a few of these for Christmas presents this year, and I had a family member reach out to me wanting to sell them at his game shop. I told him it wasn't my design so I would have to make some changes to be able to actually do something like that both legally and consciously. So I went about and completely redid the top of the box as well as the gears to better fit the needs that I am looking for. I've included some images here. Most importantly, the triangle portions are now are completely flat, and the gears have been designed to take fasteners as well as hold the triangles in place (it can be seen in the 2nd image). I also plan on changing the triangle to a teardrop pattern in order to more fully differentiate it. My question is would you be opposed to me selling these for a fairly paltry sum, with all of the changes that I've made? Any input would be great.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. First off, that print turned out fantastic. I'm really stoked to hear you printed the design for Christmas and that your family member liked it enough to want to sell them - hearing this kind of feedback makes a huge difference.

To answer your question, the copyright for this design states the following:

Except contraindication, all creations published on CULTS are exclusively reserved for private and personal use. It means not selling the model or any derivative of the model for economic or financial gain. For example, you cannot sell the digital model, a derivative or adaptation of that model, nor can you sell prints of the model or make trade of it, unless the designer has given you formally his approval.

https://cults3d.com/en/questions#copyright

So, unfortunately, at this time I would be opposed to you selling the prints, even with the modifications.

I have a business selling physical prints here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MikeShapiroDesigns, and I'm planning on expanding this in the near future. The design is patent-pending as well. Maybe you or your family member could get in touch here and see if we can work something out.

Again, great print,
Mike
