Do you have any links for where I can buy the switches and lights and stuff? Idk what to look for. And how do I assemble it all?

Bonjour.
Je voudrai savoir si toute les piece s imprime avec un cr10 30x30 svp
Cordialement

Hello =D

Wich panels are you referring to? If you’re referring to the A320 Overhead, yes. All the panels can be printed, I’ve made a Split version of the panels for it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hi , i need to ask from where i will buy all switches knobs etc , for yours panels i need to buy for airbus a320 many.

Hey!

I would recommend you buying all the electronics from Aliexpress, you can get all the rotary switches, leds, tacticle buttons etc for a very low price there.

Hello
I contact you because I’m really interested on your https://cults3d.com/fr/modèle-3d/jeu/airbus-a320-overhead-panels
But, I need the files ready to use for laser cutter. Do you think it is possible ?
Other little question : did you have make the Korry also or/and what’s the size of them to be compatible with your panel ?

Thanks a lot for your reply,
Cheers
Matthis

Hello Matthis

The panel cutout for the korry's are 16mm x 16mm, currently I do not sell any korry files.

About the laser cutting files, unfourtnately I do not have or sell them. This model was created to serve exclusively the purpose of making a fully functional, cheap and 3D printable Overhead for homecockpits.

I did included on the files a version of the panels without the lettering at the request of some customers, for those who may wan't to try creating the .svg files and laser engraving them by their own trial.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else! =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Can these Panels come in a split format? I only have a Ender 3 Neo, but will also have a Bambu 1P1 in the coming week.

Hey,

All the A320 Overhead Panels are avaliable in a “split” version, wich is printable with any Ender 3. Also, the Overhead you see on the pictures was made by me using only an Ender 3. =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Great news, is there a link for the split files ?
Thank you in advance

They are all in the same folder. When you buy the Overhead Files, you will see that there are the regular panel files, and for every panel there’s a folder named “Split version” wich is the respective panel divided in two parts.

Let me know if you need anything else.

RDDesigns.

Love the look of the A321 panels, I work for a Australian Airline and I'm looking at building a home cockpit. How do you make the decals ?

Hey, about the decals I've made a step by step explaining the process with pictures.
Don't worry, it is a simple process. The main idea is basically that the lettering on the panels is a little bit higher than the surface of it, so when you print your panels with transparent PLA, paint them with the desired color and than sand it carefully, you remove the painting that was covering the lettering, allowing light to travel through them creating the backlight effect.

Here are the steps:
Step 1 - https://imgur.com/pUW31WV
Step 2 - https://imgur.com/eU1ybEU
Step 3 - https://imgur.com/3OqwLMS
Step 4 - https://imgur.com/RUAhmhL
Result - https://imgur.com/0duFlUh

Let me know if you understood the process, if you still have any doubts, just ask =)

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Awesome, Just had a look at the process looks easy enough finding the switches will be fun and then the wiring to get it all to work. Is there anywhere we can get how to wire it all together?

I highly recommend you joining the MobiFlight Discord community. They have a ton of channels dedicated to hardware, 3d printing etc if you’re not used to electronics. There I learned almost everything I needed to build my first Overhead, they even have examples/tutorials on how to wire and connect things on their website, such as video tutorials on youtube.

Also, I have a highlights on my IG (@estevez_engineering) where I show the whole process of making the Overhead =)

E190 mip sizes

Hi!

i was wondering if you can make a Embraer MIP panel to 3d print

Hello!

Do you mean the MIP itself (with the display frames, landing gear lever etc) or the Guidance Panel?

like the whole cockpit i need mip, Guidance Panel, center consul and the overhead which you have and i am going to buy

Yes, the MIP and Guidance panel are on my list of things to do. Im currently finishing the Boeing 737 Overhead in the next few days and will start making them after I finish it. I'll probably begin with the E1 guidance panel since I believe there's more search for it =D

Hello I’m interested in purchasing your a320 overhead files. Does it include a list of the switches, etc that are needed?

Hey

It doesn't include a list of the eletronics needed, but recently I’ve been working on some upgrades for my Overhead and just built one. It is just a quick scratch for now with all the switch types, led colors etc needed to build it. But If you wan’t it let me know your email and I can “formalize” it than send to you. =D

By the way, I will probably upload it with the model futurely since some costumers already made the same question before.

Mind sending it to me? emilijan2008@gmail.com

I'm relatively new to 3d printing and so still need a little coaching but I'm very interested in these files (nice work btw). Quick question, what size base plate do you recommend? I want to make sure I don't start printing on too small of a machine and have to restart.

Thanks!

Hello

Thanks =D. About the size plate, I recommend a big size (400mm x 400mm or more would be perfect), such as the CR10 Max from Creality. You will be able to print all the panels at once, making your work easier, with more quality and stronger panels. You can also do it on a regular Ender 3 as I did, but you will need to use my “splited” version of the panels and than glue the parts together, that’s why I prefer bigger bed sizes.

Let me know If I can help you with anything else =)

Cordially,
RDDesigns.

Hello
I am making the ceiling panel
I want to do the laser engraving, can you give me the DXF files, redrawing would waste a lot of time.
Thank you for your help,

Same question for me :)

How do you get the color in the green lines on the Light,Air Cond and fuel panels?

Hello

For the green lines Im still working on it, I did some tests and the best technique I found by this time was to use a simple green marker and hand paint the lines. Its not perfect but it can be a good option, by the way let me know if you figure out any better techniques, lets share our ideas here :-)

Regards,
RDDesigns.

I did use a marker from a German brand and it did work out pretty good. Problem is that with time it has a tendency to turn into a yellowish color....
What I am also having a bit of a problem is with the laser panels in order to precisely engrave them aligned with the holes in the panel. I have been painfully creating the lettering and lines in Lightburn but it is difficult to perfectly align everything. You won't happen to have the files for the laser lettering? Thank you

Hey

I don't have/sell the DXF files for the engraving. I did added a "extra-oficial" laser version (thats why I did not included it at the Overhead description) of the panels because a costumer asked for, but they're just the panels without the lettering for those who may wan't to try laser engraving them.

I don’t work with DXF files, but as Im seeing a bunch of people that wan’t to engrave the panels I may be doing them futurely. Right now Im busy working on some new panels from other aircrafts wich I may release soon =D.

RDDesigns.

Hello to you,
I bought you and the files, STL, thank you for this good work.
Is it possible for you to send me the files in DXF for laser engraving.
Thanks,
Cordially

Hello!

I don't have/sell the DXF files for the engraving. The laser version stl's are the same panels but without all the lettering, they were made to facilitate the work of a customer who wanted to try laser engraving them =).

Let me know if you need anything else =)

Regards,
RDDesigns.

For the A320 overhead do you have it for laser engrave instead of 3D printing?

Hey =D

No, I did added a "extra-oficial" laser version (thats why I did not included it at the Overhead description) of the panels because a costumer asked for, but they're just the panels without the lettering for those who may wan't to try laser engraving them, but I don't offer the DXF files for it.

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hello
Yes divide the panels in two.
Thank you Best regards

Hey

I already made a split version of the panels, they're located at "../Panels v2/Spllited panels v2" folder. You may have a older version of the files downloaded, just re-download them from Cults3D and you'll be able to see splitted folder. If you need a different cut on a specific panel, message me! =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Thanks!!

Your welcome =}

Hello
Thanks for the update.
can you make a file, cut in half, for small machine
Thank you Best regards

Hello =]

Sorry, don't think I understand what you mean't. You wan't me to split all the panels in the exact middle?

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hi, I just purchased your A320 overhead panels. I am. running into a problem, I own an Odin 5 F3 with a building plate of 225mm. The splitted Air Condition panel for example does not fit my printing are, specially if I intend to use build plate adhesion. Is there a chance you could split the panels a bit more equal? I printed your splitted Light panel and it worked perfect.. Thanks in advance.

Hey =D

Sure my friend, I just re-splited the panel a bit more equal so you can fit it better on your printer. Let me know if you need anything else!

RDDesigns.

Thanks for quick reply. I am using ender 3s1 but didn't have much experience with printing small letters. I did it once but with very poor results. I guesstits all about settings and maybe 0.2mm extruder tip. Did you try laser engraving on your panels? I have laser engraving module for my printer but didn't try yet on plastic so far.

Hey!

Yes you're right, its all about settings. Using low speeds combined with a higher temp and the best print quality avaliable on your printer (In my case I used 0.12mm on my ender3v2) you can get pretty nice results. When Im simulating at night is impossible to say if the panels are either 3D printed or laser engraved. About the laser engraving module I've never used them, but I think it sounds like a good idea =D. Maybe I'll get one of these modules and try it out.

Regards,
RDDesgins.

Hi. I am considering buying your files. But I have some questions. What primer is the best to use on it?, Does the files contain the buttons (the part with letters on the corry)? And what is the quality of letters print? If you could post some pictures.

Hey,

About the primer, I recommend you to use Rust Oleoum Black Sandable Primer. They work great with 3D prints and gives a nice clean look to your panels. For the korry faces, I don't sell them neither any kind of mechanism, I only sell the panels files. You can download some free korry stl's and test them to see wich one you like / works best for you. About the quality of the letters, here's some pics of them: https://imgur.com/77rCqeA https://imgur.com/rUlqthm https://imgur.com/siAhDwx . I also recommend printing the panels with the best resolution of your printer to get a nice clean lettering look.

Let me know if you need anything else =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hi, you won't happen to have the file with the laser lettering? Thanks

Hello

No, unfortunately I don't have it :(

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Thanks anyway. Will try to create the lettering from scratch for your Overhead light panel, and then see how the outcome is....

Hey

I just re-uploaded right now all the overhead panels with the laser engraving version =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Thanks!, let me test how well the laser engraving works in the Lights panel and then I will purchase the rest of the panels. I am editing right now with Lightburn the lettering over the panel.

Nice! Im excited to see how it will come out. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Will you have laser engraving spitted panel versions?

splited *

Hey

Yes, I'll upload all them in the next few days. By now I'll be uploading the laser engraving splited panel version of the lights panel so you can already use them. =)

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hi thanks for your answer. The problem with usaclinng the Korry, is the fact that the design I use is mounted inside an aluminum an aluminum sleeve that's the size I use and that's it. I have started editing the panel with 18x18 holes, but I guess I will wait until you have uploaded the new version, that is laser engraving friendly. Thanks

upscaling*

Hey

Oh I understand, sorry for not being able to help you with the square issue. About the laser engraving I'll try to release them soon as possible, been busy these days. I'll reply you when I finish it =D

Regards,
RDDesigns.

Hi if I have a any cubic photon s resin print . Is smaller resin printer I can print this panel in this printer ? Thanks

Hello =D

Yes, you can print it but you would have to split the panels in multiple pieces (you can use any slicing software such as SLIC3R for that) wich can be quite annoying and a bit more difficult since you would have to glue them together later on. But yes, it is technically possible altough I wouldn't recommend it. I believe it would be better to use a bigger FDM printer (if a bigger resin one is not an option).

Let me know if you need anything else.

Regards,
RDDesigns.

I did purchase last month your light panel before jumping with the rest of overhead. I have being doing some trials with different Korry switches and finally have found a design I like. The problem is the panel holes being a bit too small for my design. Wouldn't you by any chance have a panel with 18mm squares?Besides that I have printed a couple of panels with lettering slightly increased and now I am trying to stop the printing before the lettering starts in order to paint the panel and then engrave with laser. Thanks for the great work.

Hello =)

Unfortunately I don't have a version of the panel with 18mm Korry Squares, have you tried re-scaling the Korry file to match with the panel dimensions? About the lettering, I just added a new version of the Lights Panel without them so you can easily print and engrave it. Also, I'll be doing it to the rest of the overhead panels in the next days.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

RDDesigns.
