Descripción del modelo 3D
The elecctronic focuser for the skywatcher virtuoso 150p is based on the manual focuser https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/skywalker-150p-manual-focuser and the ascom-oag-focuser https://github.com/jlecomte/ascom-oag-focuser?tab=readme-ov-file
The build will require:
adruino nano x1
28byj -48 5V (12V can be made with a different wiring, see the ascom-oag focuser) x1
ULN2003 Driver board (Blue) x1
cables for connecting the nano to the driver board x6
- I used female - female jumper cable as my nano is prepinned
M4 x 10 Screws x2
M3 x 12 Screws x 4
M2 x 3 Screws x2
1) Electronics
For the electronics connect the following
Driver In1 - Nano Pin 8
Driver In2 - Nano Pin 9
Driver In3 - Nano Pin 10
Driver in 3 - Nano Pin 11
Driver 5V - Nano 5V
Driver Ground - Nano Ground
To test the electronics download the Arduino IDE https://www.arduino.cc/en/software and flash the firmware https://github.com/jlecomte/ascom-oag-focuser/tree/v2/Arduino_Firmware
Download the installer https://github.com/jlecomte/ascom-oag-focuser/releases
Connect the nano to your computer and the standalone application should connect and drive the electronics and motors
2) Mechanical parts
Next print the Thread (test for fit on scope) lub with super lub (see manual focuser) . Then print the holder and test for fit (to the thread and to your imaging train). Next print the opinion gear !do not attach to motor! test to see what is the correct side for the gear. only attached gear after that has been determined. The motor point at the same direction as the guiding legs. The opinion gear may require some force (or print at 102%). Secure the motor to the plate with M3 screws. Test the assembly to make sure the gears are turning, if not check wiring. Next print the holder and attach to the scope. note the holder is sloped (inside, flip the orientation for best fit). If all is working up to this point print the lid and close the box with M2 screws x4. Next lub the guide legs.
4) Print the stray light block and slide on top of the holder
3) Installation of the autofocuser
To insert the assembled focuser into the scope, make sure the motor is traveling forward (under setting uncheck reverse)). set the travel limit to 8000, move to 8000. while the gears and moving guide the focuser into the scope. after the first 8000, check the assembly is seated correctly and apply lub to the thread if needed. Set the current position to 0, and move 8000. doing 2-3 set to zero and move to 8000 should get the assembly to seat almost at the bottom (note, do not hit the bottom as that may damage components). Set this position to 0. Set the motor for reverse direction. The focus is roughly around 4000. The focuser is now ready for use.
Parámetros de impresión 3D
Easy to print, no support needed. orient top surfaces on print bed.
