Slicer Settings:
Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS recommended. PETG offers more durability and flexibility.
Layer Height: 0.15mm - 0.2mm for a good balance of detail and print time.
Infill: 15-20% for most parts; consider 25-30% for high-wear areas like strap attachment points if increased durability is desired.
Supports: Generally required for the visor opening and potentially for some overhangs on the internal structure. Use tree supports or organic supports for easier removal.
Brim/Raft: A brim may be beneficial for parts with a small footprint to ensure good bed adhesion.
Printing Orientation: Print the main mask body with the front facing upwards to minimize supports on the visible exterior. Other smaller components can be oriented flat for easier printing.
Post-Processing:
Support Removal: Carefully remove all supports.
Sanding: Light sanding with fine-grit sandpaper (220-400 grit) can smooth out layer lines.
Priming & Painting: Apply a plastic-compatible primer, then paint with acrylics or spray paints to achieve your desired finish. Weathering effects (e.g., dry brushing with silver/black) can enhance the tactical look.
Visor: For the eye openings, consider cutting tinted plastic sheets (e.g., from old sunglasses, face shields, or translucent plastic binders) to size and gluing them in place from the inside.
Strapping: Attach adjustable elastic straps or a harness system using small screws or strong adhesive to the designated attachment points on the sides/back.
Padding: For comfort, line the inside with foam padding or adhesive felt.
