I need to make a coif-style helmet (with the neck/shoulder bits) for the theater - obviously I can piece it out of the 1.7m pattern by cutting and linking but is there any chance you've worked on such a pattern? Happy to pay for design time. [I've already verified your test print runs great, thank you!]

Hello - I purchased your chainmail v2.1 - 1 meter before realizing that I would be unable to print it on my Bambu Lab PS1. If you have a slightly smaller version that will fit on my 256 x 256 print bed, could I please have that? Otherwise, I would like to request a refund for that download as Iʻll never be able to use it. I purchased the Dwarven Style Chainmail instead, but I need a lot of it. Is there a way to print it on multiple layers so that I can print more efficiently? Iʻm hoping to print 1 meter of the Dwarven Style in place of the 1 meter chainmail. My first preference is a smaller scale version of the v2.1 chainmail, but if thatʻs not available to me, then please assist me with a refund and your guidance to print the Dwarven on a larger scale if possible. Hello, I am in the midst of printing several of your chainmail V2.0 "game changer" version and I'm wondering if you have made any video or how to directions on linking several sheets of chainmail together properly using the printed single links? I would love to know how to get a fluid look so it doesn't look like sections put together rather than a cohesive sheet. Also, I purchased your latest sleeve file and after printing it up, I tried it on and it was way too small to get past my elbow!
Note: Flashforge AD5X printer, scaled down print to fit bed at X-220.00, Y-181.33 Z-45.07, 2.8 layer height (largest for this particular printer) It is working well and I'm getting successful prints!

On our social media, we have videos showing how the sheets are assembled and how to link multiple chainmail panels together for a more fluid, cohesive look. That should help achieve a seamless result rather than visible sections.
I’m also really glad to hear the file worked well for you when scaled down to a smaller size. Changing the dimensions of this design often causes printing issues, so it’s great that you’ve been getting successful prints and good results.
I don’t know your exact size, but once the full chainmail garment is assembled, the shoulder section tends to drop a bit and the sleeve sits lower. It usually ends around mid-arm and slightly below the elbow. Hopefully that makes sense — you’ll be able to see this much more clearly once the full chainmail is assembled.

Hi, I purchased your file, but it doesn't work on any computer or slicer. On every computer, the slicer gets stuck at 15%.
Can you tell me how to fix this?
The tpu wings: I noticed part 2 and 3 are not hollow unless I print without infill. All the other parts seem to have a second set of walls as I would expect, with the interior hollow.

We’ve never had that issue happen with an optimal print. We’ve seen something similar with other files only when there’s an extrusion or calibration problem during printing. If you’d like, I can help you troubleshoot to make sure everything prints correctly. Let me know!

I've tried printing the 2.0 version. I needed a little tweaking on the settings and have now upgraded my printer. Thinking of revisiting this, and I got an email for the updated version, which I can access without paying extra. (Thank you.) When I download the new 2.1 version, I get the same 2.0 version... Help?

The file has been updated — the changes are quite subtle but were made to help optimize the printability of the model. You might not notice major visual differences, but it should perform slightly better during printing.

Thanks. It turns out, the name is the same and includes the version 2.0 in the name. However, on opening the archive, it actually contains the 2.1 files. Now to try to get it to work on a Core One... because you want 3 mm, and it only has presets for 2.8mm
Hello I recently purchased and downloaded the chainmail armor 2.1 (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/fashion/chainmail-armor-create-your-own-super-light-chainmail) and did not realize the bed size needed exceeded mine by quite a bit having to scale down to 90% would you happen to have a file available for a smaller print bed size? I currently have a print bed size of 220x220x250

@Propsmaker - did you happen to make a slightly smaller version for the chainmail v2.1? I have also encountered the same problem trying to print on a Bambu PS1 256x256 print bed with an error saying that it is too close to the exclusion area and there may be some collisions when printing. Any options or fix for this?
Hi I really like your Articulated Scalemail Bracer. Just printed one in petg. Took about 10h no supports. looks great! It is a little small for me though. I was wondering if you could design one that is a bit wider and longer. Or provide the step files etc. I could scale it up or remix it myself but I though it would be good to ask.

Thanks a lot! I’m really glad you liked it! You’re absolutely allowed to remix or scale it up for personal use only — no problem at all, as long as it’s not published or shared. I made it that size so it would fit most printers’ build volumes.

Hi, any reason why the new 2.1 version is rectangular not square? Had to reduce size to 94% to get it on the build plate. Previous version fit perfectly at 100%
Hi! The new 2.1 version was designed to match the rectangular Prusa beds (250x220). I’m planning to make a smaller version soon, and I’ll let you know here as soon as it’s ready!

I wonder if this has anything to do with what printer you're using. Or what settings you're using. Or what material you're using. Or whether you know what you're doing. Do you realize, the slicer actually tells you this info when you do put in all of those things? Its right there at your fingertips, every time you use it.

Hi Propsmaker - I purchased the full shirt but had a lot of issues printing the test file (Rings not separating, rings breaking at the supports). I then also purchased and have had a lot more success with the V2.1 file, and have almost finished the first full sheet. Is it possible to organise a refund for the full shirt as i wont be trying that file now that the V2 is proving to be successful.

I bought the chainmail shirt, in your description, notes you said there are bigger versions in the file but all I see are the short variants. I went to print it on my Bambu labs h2d and it failed pretty bad. do you have a 3mf by chance to get a idea on the recommended settings by chance?

Both versions are included — in the root of the download you’ll find all the standard files, and there’s also a ZIP with the variant ones.
In general, print failures happen because the ideal setup is 0.3 mm layer height (including the first layer) and a 0.5 mm Z-lift so the nozzle doesn’t collide with the rings and knock them loose while moving between them.

my question is regarding Chainmail v2.1 - there no advice which nozzle size should be used. Are good results also using a 0.6mm nozzle possible? Was this tested anytime?
