 Some alternative locos based on the Q1, using standard parts, as if Bulleid rather than Riddles designed the Austerities and BR standards.. 

Based on 3 types of boiler (A, B and C), and a fourth with shortened front running plate (D) but boiler same as C. 
Type A is same as one actually fitted to Q1. 

Requires finishing off, wheels etc

One of many designs created over a 10 year period to be printed on Shapeways, mainly for SLS but smaller models also printed in fine material. All designs passed initial checks for shapeways.
It may be possible to print using other types of printing. 3D printers are advancing very rapidly and getting cheaper so I would expect it will not be long before home type printers which can print all my designs are available. Alternatively there are many commercial 3D printing companies who should be able to do the printing.

Designs have been created for specific scales to keep wall thickness(approx 1mm) not too thin or too thick.
