!!! Caution: Always check your bottle before drinking! In rare cases, the top part of the neck can get damaged due to the impact forces, which can lead to razor sharp edges! Always check the bottle neck after it went through the device!
Update 20th May 2026:
I'm happy to share the first update for improvements and additions for the Beer Cap Cannon!
Updates as follows:
The cup got an additional foot step to secure the cannon if it is operating on the ground. A small bump block for making the folding a bit easier and a groove for holding a "crash pad" was added as well.
The triggers received some new markings and a chamfer was added to hold the newly added washers in place.
Additions:
New washers added. These are now used for installing the trigger, instead of standard metal washer. This makes assebmly of the trigger much easier and erases some non-printed parts. You can also glue the washers to the trigger to have them well secured but it's not mandatory.
New part "crash-pad" added. It can be printed with a soft TPU and directly installed to the cup. If you not able to print TPU it can be at least a good template for cutting a crash-pad out of any foam material.
(BETA) Mod-kit for 330cc long-neck-bottles added. This contains one barrel adapter to reduce the diameter suitable for 330cc bottles (long and short version) and new triggers (standard and metal enforced version). Unfortunately, there is a huge variety of 330cc bottles on the market so I wasn't able to test them all but it works good with Heineken, Desperados, standard long-neck-bottles, etc. I consider this still as a beta-version, so any feedback or input for improvement is highly appreciated!
Original description:
The almost legendary beer mortar is great! Just let your beer slide down the barrel and the cap will shoot off! But here comes the all new, re-imagined and perfectly engineered beer cap cannon which takes the original idea to the next level!
The design approach - Military tactical style with a lot of fun to use!
The engineering approach - smooth and robust operation with a high-quality feeling to it and as few non-printed extra parts as possible! The final result needs just one M4x35mm screw with washers and nut, and a few drops of glue and grease to be fully operational. And without any tools, the mortar can be folded to hand bag size and by adding a strap to the already prepared loop holes it can be carried around with ease!
It is designed to shoot with European 0,5l "NRW-Bottles". Interchangeable triggers for different bottle types are already in development.
Please find the detailed assembly manual separately.
The package contains two versions for the trigger:
- Fully printed - The edge can get worn out over time and the trigger eventually needs to be renewed.
- With pocket for a metal insert - Very durable but a bit more effort to assemble.
Two barrel versions:
- 300mm for large scale printers
- 250mm for standard printer
You can also print the 300mm version in two pieces on a standard printer and glue it together. The big version obviously looks way cooler!
Happy shooting and drink responsibly!

General, some parts require tight tolerances for smooth operation. Make sure your printer is well calibrated, otherwise a little sanding could be required to be able to assemble everything properly!
All parts can be printed without supports. There are some small overhangs and bridges but nothing a properly calibrated printer couldn't handle. But please print with supports if you feel the need to do so.
For printing settings, I recommend the following:
- Layer Hight 0,20mm, standard quality, 2 lines perimeter thickness for the barrel, the cup and the barrel adapter.
- Layer Hight 0,20mm, standard quality, 4 lines perimeter thickness for slide rod, slide, foot L/R and trigger.
- Layer Hight 0,12mm, high quality, 2 lines perimeter thickness for the bushing shells, the screw and the washers.
