Hey Everyone the ARES V3 is now out and I have posted it. Let me know if you have questions

NextGen Arms presents the Ares Ruger 10/22 Chassis System, known as the Ares I-III, specifically engineered for the Ruger 10/22 rifle. Crafted in the USA, this chassis enhances both the ergonomics and functionality of the beloved .22 Long Rifle semi-automatic, applicable to both firearms and airsoft versions.

Side Note: This Chassis and all accessories are not firearms, they do not hold ammunition, does not have moving parts. It does not hold pressure and is not capable of holding pressure. It is not a part that requires an ID or serial number. There are no moving parts in the design.

Design relacionado: Chassis Takedown NXG ARES 1022

¿A qué parte específica te refieres?

No puedo explicarme correctamente.

Okay that’s not good let me fix that.

Hi I'm wondering what pistol grip you use and if you have file available also wondering what butt you use for the stock and if you have a file available

Eric accepts any AR style grip except for grips that have a dub tail has to be a flat top AR grip for the stock. It is compatible with AR style components such as a buffer tube and any AR stock.

Hi, I just bought the picatinny modifier for the v3 stock and the file in the download is just a wedge shape, how do you print the rear end adapter that is pictured in the listing? thanks

cancel that I see it is in the step file I was only looking at the stl files, thanks

Does your Ruger 10/22 models work with a Ruger 10/22 takedown?

I’m sorry it does not…… but…… stay tuned hopefully in a month or so. Or check out my website if you don’t feel like printing the chassis. In The description

hello dope design I somehow got charged 2 times anyway to get one refunded thanks for your time

Hello are stl files available for v2?

Not sure what you mean they should be stl.
MATTVEEZY. You must submit a refund request. I cannot do anything until that happens.

V2 is missing the STL for some of the parts, main body is step file only. I accidentally purchased v2 thinking it was v3 cause the title has v3 in it... Oops

Hi, iam interested in your 10/22 chassis but i need to know how the bolt housing is secured in the back? i have a old 10/22 here in germany and it seems like it had a tab removed in the back. i already tried to print another chassis but it is not stable in the back. in the front there is the screw but nothing in the back.

The most notorious issue with the 1022. Securing it to the chassis then you have tolerance stacking on aftermarket parts. It is exceptionally difficult to get a perfect fit because no part is the same, and that includes the manufacturer year of Ruger itself the way it fits is the removable pistol grip mount has a notch in it, which is normally on a main chassis. essentially it works the same way as how your toolbox at home latches in on itself with a bar. mechanics slightly different but the same. I have not heard of anyone having issues with it. Let me know if you do.

Hello! I just bought your v3 design. My questions are: where can I get the handle? And where can I get a stock, or how do I adapt it? Are there any downloadable files for this? Thank you very much, friend.

The pistol grip is compatible with any AR style grip without the dove tail. It must be the 90 degree grips. You adapt the stock by purchasing an AR buffer tube connection. It serves no function purpose only to connect the stock. Doesn’t require and spring or buffer because it is not an AR. You will need to buy a castle nut as well. They are cheap should cost you a total of 35usd. Check out common firearm or firearm accessory stores like midway, ARDISCOUNTERS OR OPTICS PLANET

I’m sure there are buffer tube downloadable files. Just type AR BUFFER TUBE AND AR CASTLE NUT.
Check out nxgarms dot com.

Thanks a lot!! Can I make 2 more questions please?
First, can those chassis designs fit a common Ruger 10/22?? I mean the simplest one with a normal barrel and the barrel clamp. Would it be necessary a clamp or can It work like that? Here in Spain there are no aftermarket barrels available… Do you think it will fit and also would it be nice looking or not?
The other question, I have seen your web, what material are you using for that? I mean, I’m sure you have tested plenty type of filaments, which is the one you are using or the best ones for you? Thanks a lot man, incredible job!!!!

Yes absolutely! Thank you
It is designed to fit standard ruger parts, without issue. It does not currently work on takedown but this will change in the future.
For an example on my website you can see my builds on standard 1022 set ups. NXGarms dot com. Swipe left second one is standard.
I use a very meticulous process to make mine. Using high grade materials. Ppa-cf pa612 CF and GF. Annealing and rehydration steps involved. With a cerakote finish. It’s not required but it makes a chassis that rivals manufacturers quality.

Barrel clamp is no longer needed

Thanks a lot man!! That will help me to make it perfect as your design deserves.
Will try to find those filaments and test them. Any final infill? You wrote 6-7 walls but I’ve seen in different designs that you tell from 30% to 60%. For the V3 which should be the perfect combo?

Depends on material used

hello guys , the body is not .stl ?

Not sure what you are referring to

sure

the body receiver is not format stl :/

sorry the 3d print Ruger 10/22 Charger Chassis:V2. V3 Now available . this receiver is not .stl format (Sry bad language english)

Hello, could you please add the ARES MAIN BODY file in .STL format?

Thank you in advance.

What slicer are you using?

A quick work around I’m guessing it’s step? I thought I had removed all step. But if Bambu or orca slicer, import model and then right click the object down towards the bottom you can export as STL. I will try and change this for you but it’s going to be about a week I am out of the country with my computer that does not have those files on it.

HI JDCON,

How much filament should I expect to use when printing the V3?

This greatly depends on your settings. Your infill percentage and wall number can in some cases double or even triple filament weight. Also depends I. What type of filament you use. Example pla can give you more prints because it weighs less per mm^3 allowing for more printing per kg. Also depends if your settings are suitable to print it. It may take you 4-5 attempts to get it were you want it. May take you 10 attempts if printed with nylon. But if you got settings right one roll or less than 2.2lbs per or 1 kg.

This mount is made specifically for the tacticam not a scope.

So I can not use this and a scope at the same time?

I see now. Yes you can this allows you to mount the cam anywhere on the rifle where a picatinny is present. If you have mlok place picatinny there and vwala cam mounted. Same as if you were using a laser or light. I wouldn’t put on the same rail as the scope though.

Unless you purchase a canted Picatinny rail allowing to mount under the scope and to the side 45 degree angle

If you download the file you will be able to measure the tolerances in your slicer if using Bambu. You can also use digital calipers to measure the cam yourself. The way I did it was placed the cam face down and drew around it. And measured it that way due to the odd shape

HEY JDCON,

THANKS FOR YOUR WORK ON THIS PROJECT. I REALLY LIKE THE DESIGN. I PURCHASED SEVERAL OF YOUR FILES. I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE EXTRA LONG FRONT HAND CHASIS .STEP FILE. WHEN I LOAD THE .STEP FILE IN MY SLICER OR FUSION 360 THERE IS THEY BOTH SHOW THERE IS NO MODEL / DATA. CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN GET THE .STEP FILE. THANKS, JUSTIN

Hi the step file was supposed to have been removed awhile ago. Which is most likely why you cannot download it.

CAN YOU SEND ME THE .STEP FILE. THE WHOLE REASON I BOUGHT THE FILE WAS FOR THE .STEP FILE. I RE-WORKED ALL OF THE FILES SLIGHTLY TO WORK FOR MY PROJECT AND REALLY NEED THE .STEP FILE TO MAKE IT WORK. THANKS FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE. RESPECTFULLY, JUSTIN

I’m sorry would you like a refund?

Hello! I saw your design "Foregrip Picatinny single finger quick draw." How did you make the spline shapes for this handle? Did you do it in Fusion 360? Or in some other program? What 3D design tutorials should I watch so that I can design my handles the same way? Can you please tell me? Thanks in advance!

Hello,
How much does the Ares V3 chassis weigh, with or without your grip, buffer tube, and buttstock? Looks good! Thanks

This all depends on material used. Size of thread inserts and metal type for screws. I currently build them with nylon infused cf. 16mm thread inserts and hardened steel .8 screws. Weights are all under 1lb (12.7-14.8oz) depending on variant. Light very light. All depends on filament and how ridged you want it to be more ridged means less impact resistance flexible means less reliability as far as accurancy you want it somewhere in the middle more on the ridged side.

Understood. Thank you.

What is minimum print bed size for this model?

Hmmm I guess technically a1 mini depending on orientation

I don’t know print bed types off the top of my head but any printer on the market should be able to print it. I built it that way so anyone with a printer can do the build. Please let me know your feedback on the design I’m always looking for improvements

I really liked your ares v2 so I bought the file. I just plan to print and put together the main body and front guard with rear picatinny for a folding brace. I currently have picked out in my amazon cart M5x25 to 45 assortment. Then M5 10mm and 12mm heat inserts. Is that all I need to complete this? Do I need M4 screws and inserts as well? If so what sizes? I looked at the description on the ares v2 page and I just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Been awhile since I looked at the V2 but I think that one is 25mm m4 and 40mm m4

On your v2 chassis, what’s the build size for the main chassis assembly ? Have a a1 mini and seeing if it will have to be sliced and all.

It won’t fit laying flat on the A1 Mini

Hey, do you happen to have a version for a takedown charger or 10/22

All of the ARES V1-3 are a modular chassis for the Ruger 10/22. It allows you to make a charger, pistol all the way to a full size rifle chassis. They are interchangeable. It implements AR Aftermarket parts such as buffer tube and collapsible stocks. It is not made for the take down. With that said that may be an option in the future.

Any suggestions on support settings or types? I just ran the forend piece with slim tree settings on a Bambu P1S and the bottom of it came out horribly. I'm going to rerun it with standard or grid support I guess. The main chassis and grip mount printed okay.

  • 1 curtida

Okay so Bambu slicer. For support for the forend. Definitely depends on what material as far as bed adhesion always glue. If using nylon family G11 plate with hyper lock and even clamps. For supports I use build plate only at 35* only different from the stock setting is tight fit. And then draw a no support around the parameter about 1 mm. I don’t use supports for the mlock. Use a high wall count 6-7. And slow interior wall down a bit. Use a soldering iron with the 3D printing ironing tips to smooth out any drooping. If you need more help shoot me your email and I can send you my settings.

  • 1 curtida

For the grip you need to tilt it 90* and once again to high wall count 7 and where the pistol grip fits you should burry a support modifier at 100% infill with 2 walls and slow it down. I’ve printed about 600 or more of these and sometimes it comes out messed up usually cause the filament gets wet nozzle clogs or open the door and it disrupts the ambient temp. So don’t give up it will come out how you want it. Just takes a little tweaking. If you would like suggestions on material I switched to a new one and it is about as strong as steel and will never literally never break. Crazy stuff.

  • 1 curtida

Thanks! I kind of figured this first run was going to be a test. I’ll do some tweaks on round two. What’s the new material? I was just using PLA+ for my trial run.

Is there a private messaging option on Cults to shoot you my e-mail? I haven't used it a ton yet. I would like to see your setting before I run my next set of Ares parts.

What exact screw sizes are needed for the Ares V3? I just grabbed the file and see it just lists a range of M4 and M5 sizes, not specifics. Thanks!

For the pistol grip. Requires M5 45mm. Other screw lengths depend on the length of thread insert you use. Such as m5x12mm thread insert. I do not know off the top of my head. I’m working on six different designs in multiple fields. I will have to get back to you on that. But they will be between 25 and 40 you can buy an assortment on Amazon that will give you all of these for both the screws and thread inserts. I made it so you can use many different kinds of lengths.

  • 1 curtida

Sorry 25-45mm

Okay, that makes sense. I wasn't sure since you listed a range of lengths but I see what you're saying now, that it depends what combo of insert and screw you go with. Thanks!

Hi, love the Ares v3 design, bought and printed it, but have a problem with finding an AR grip that fits it. I tried a few printed grips and a Magpul MOE+ and none would fit over the pistol grip mount. I was wondering which one you used when designing it?

Yes you are correct. Certain grips will not work. Specifically the dovetail dovetails will not work on this system. It has to be a square edge. An example would be a standard mil spec hand grip they make multiple different kinds of them just remember no dovetail.

I'll look for one, thank you for the quick response . I already gor the rest put together and really want to get out and shoot this. Also working on a carbon style folding stock for it.

Awesome I’m happy you like it. Unthinkable hours in its design.
Just please remember. If you plan to put a folding stock on it, be sure your overal gun length is to federal law regulations. Or you have paid a $200 tax stamp. This message is as of 11/22/2024. Regulations can change…..
