Hi David,
I see in my history that you've downloaded my limit switch designs. In your post you mention you've tried them all but they all had their problems.
Would you mind expanding on the problems you encountered with my design? I don't think the pins on your pcb (or any pcb anywhere) would be longer than 5mm (if it's my brackets you are referring to that is, I have to guess since I don't see any attribution to other designs you remixed but the mounts look very much like mine) and looking at your design I don't see any advantages...
Please enlighten me so I might improve my design.

Your design did provide some inspiration for me, but I wanted to play around a bit in OpenSCAD - borrowing ideas from here, there and everywhere! It wasn't your design that gave me problems with the PCB pins.
On the Y axis I borrowed the layout from another design, so that I could adjust its position a bit more easily. On the X axis I raised the platform so that the bracket could move further left, clearing the belt fixing screw. In both cases I moved the bracket fixing screws so that they were not in the same slot as the belts (which was a problem I had with yours).

If you can't get the t-nuts to rotate in by themselves while mounting (or tensioning) the timing belts or in this case mounting the limit switch brackets you can put the t-nut in first and rotate it in with a screwdriver, then mount the screw (works the same for all these type of laser engravers). As soon as the screw is part way in you can use the whole assembly so slide it in the desired position and tighten it as needed.
As for the X-axis, you can remove the belt tensioning screw and simply mount my bracket in it's place giving you maximum clearance without sacrificing mechanical advantage by raising the mount to clear a screw (or in the case of the Y-axis turning it into a lever) and/or disabling yourself from accessing the screw below the bracket without having to disassemble your end stop.
Not much I can do as far as the design goes but I will add some text explaining this to people if there's more that have problems mounting t-nuts on top of timing belts.
