WW2 British 77mm HV Comet Tank Cannon Shell

Full-size imitation of the round fired by the 77mm HV cannon equipped by British Comet tanks in late WW2 that saw heavy use during 1944-1945 in Europe and also the very early Cold War period up into the late 1950's. This was effectively a 17-pounder with a shortened case to allow easier handling inside the confines of the Comet's turret, but was still powerful enough to challenge the armour of the German Panthers and Tigers.

Detailed with the No.9 primer in base of case, and comes with choice of 3 different projectiles:

• APCBC (standard AP projectile)
• APDS (special saboted AP projectile with accurate stamped markings)
• HE with No.244 fuze (period correct for late WW2)

Each round assembles in 5 parts. 3D-printable stencils for the markings on the HE shell are included, plus several labelled pictures with instructions for assembly and paint. If you are assembling the APDS round, please check the instructional pictures carefully as this round is slightly different to the others.

Approx. complete dimensions: between 595mm (23.4") and 710mm (28") in height depending on projectile used, and 116mm (4.6") maximum diameter at the case rim.

Recommended Settings:

Layers: Use 0.20-0.30mm layers for all parts except the primer and fuze, which would be best printed with 0.16mm or smaller layers due to their finer level of detail.

Infill & Walls: Use 3 vertical walls and 5% infill with rectilinear pattern.

Supports: All parts are pre-oriented in the best printing position and do not require supports
