🔧 SNM Upper V1 - Outer Barrel-Less Upper System

5'' inch handguard variant for now

Designed around a Specna Arms lower receiver - rounded back + 14mm front pin width. Will add a variant with 16mm front pin width aswell.

The SNM Upper V1 is an innovative 2-piece airsoft upper system consisting of a dedicated upper receiver and a matching handguard, engineered to eliminate the need for a traditional outer barrel.

The 'WAVE' design is the second one in the series, featuring a more rounded and slightly more calm wave-like design.

This design integrates inner barrel support and hop-up mounting directly into the upper receiver, while the handguard mounts securely via a rigid multi-screw interface—resulting in excellent alignment, reduced wobble, and a distinctive aggressive look.

Designed for M4/AR15-style airsoft lowers

Compatible with V2 gearbox platforms

Tested using MAXX M4 hop up. Can adapt to other hop ups if necessary

🖨️ Print Recommendations

Material: Any rigid material. I printed it using PETG-GF and it is VERY sturdy. Be aware of potential PLA creep over time.

Infill: 20-40% (Gyroid / Cubic)

Walls: 4+ - walls help a lot in this design

Layer Height: 0.16–0.28 mm - i used 0.28mm

Important:

Ensure strong layer adhesion - very important

Make sure to not over tighten screws.

Heat-set Inserts (if using M3):

Install carefully with a soldering iron

Ensure proper alignment before final seating

M3/M4 x 6mm screws needed

⚠️ Notes

Designed for users familiar with airsoft teching and 3D printing

Designed using my printer's and filament (petg-gf at the time) tolerances. Some tolerance tuning may be required depending on your printer and material. Can adapt the design for tolerances if needed (tighter/looser)

Always test-fit components before full assembly - you can print only the base of the handguard + front part of the upper receiver to test fit - should fit fairly loose as the screws will help keep them in place
