This kit is cutting straight tube into pie cut sections to then make custom bends for those tight and intricate jobs, or to show off your skills in fabrication and welding, these jigs will enable the ease of cutting and repeating for as many pieces as needed.
The jig will fit inside the clamp of the saw, it also uses the compression from the clamp to then grab a hold of the tube. Adjust the angle of the blade to match the jig and its ready to go.
There are included centerline markers for all the included tubing diameters.
I have included an excell sheet which calculates how much the tube needs to protrude from the jig for a given centerline radius, this can then be set up on a vernier gauge and perfectly symmetrical pie cuts can then be produced.
how to use jigs:
Use the included centerline markers two draw two lines down your tubing 180 degrees apart. You can use the 3 line version which are 90 degrees apart each, this will then give you a reference to measure with the vernier gauge to cut the pieces exactly the same.
Use the calculator to work out how far out the tube needs to protrude from the jig.
Fit the tube into the jig, then into clamp on the saw, make sure the engled cut slides up to the blade
Tighten the clamp down so it is just gripping the tube, adjust the amount of material to be removed to get your first angle, make the first cut, the piece that was removed will make up for the first cut
To cut the first pie section, loosen the clamp, and then roll the tube 180 degrees, set the material to be cut, then tighten back down and make a cut, repeat this for the desired amount of pie cuts.
