Hello. Any chance you could make the black lifts for the Groundshaker base that raise that one platform up? I recently picked one up that is complete, minus those, and I can't find anything good enough to use to model replacements.

Hi. Do you mean the two thin black stilts at the front edge of the base, or the thicker ones nearer to the center?

Actually, you asking that and me looking, I found them (I feel foolish, but it happens)

No need to feel foolish. They are quite well hidden in there.

Let me know when you break them and I'll model some new ones :D

Hello! Thank you very much for downloading my file, I hope you liked it, it would be very helpful to know your opinion of the file and what you would like me to design. If you printed it, it is very helpful to me if you share a photo of your piece on the page. If you need a special design, I'll share my email so you can write to me and I'll be happy to quote you: bressanreinhard@gmail.com

I leave you as a gift a 10% discount voucher for all my designs: AQUARIANSENTINEL10

Follow me and leave me your like!

This month's promo for being part of my family! a big hug!

Hi dude, not planning on working on any micromaster ramps, I remixed some similar ramps for my own from someone else's design so feel free. Not really planning on any micromaster bits in future.

Hey. Remember when you gave me the measurements for the micromasters squad connectors? I was wondering if you ever printed my oiler and slide. If you did do you mind sending me pictures of the results? Or any feedback you had. Also could you include a size comparison of the g1 oiler and my slide combined? I'm planning on releasing my next set of micromasters soon, And I wanted to know if I should make any changes before hand. If you've read it this far thank you ;)

Sorry to leave you having for so long. I printed Slide, but it had a 5mm hole as connector. I just posted a Make with photos for you :)

Thanks! I’ll take a look at the file on here. I thought it was the g1 style one

Yeah sorry man. I think I updated the file after you had downloaded it. Thats my bad

Okay, I downloaded the new version and printed just the side that connects to other Micromasters. I printed it horizontally instead of vertically because I'm quite sure the peg would break off otherwise.
The peg fit well, quite tight but good. The peg hole next to it was a little too tight, which may be because I printed it horizontally and the top became an overhang. The distance between peg and hole is good. There is just one problem: The peg and hole should swap places, as currently it can only connect to other Micromasters upside-down.

uh... wow. Easy fix but wow. I don't know how that happened lol. Good thing you printed it!

Hey what's up man. I'm the guy from YouTube interesting in getting that Metabee set printed and painted. Thought it be easier chatting here than on Youtube. Lmk if this works or if its better elsewhere

Hi, thanks for your interest. So I take it that you are a big fan of Medabots.
I am willing to make a Metabee armour set for you, but it's a rather big project. The way I see it you have two options: Either I can make the complete set and ship it to you from the Netherlands, or you could purchase the files on Cults and have most parts printed locally, in which case you only need me to make the foam legs, feet, skirts, antlers, and shoulder cannons. The only parts that really need painting are the legs and hind skirt, I still have the right colour of filament for the rest (Melon Yellow).

So, a couple of questions before I start crunching numbers:
In which country do you live?
Do you already have the Robosen Bumblebee robot?
Would you like me to make the whole set, or only the foam parts?

Regards,
Patrick

Hello, thanks for responding. See below:

  1. United States
  2. I do not have one yet, I wanted to inquire about the possibility of this project first before I proceed to order one.
  3. I would like the whole set.

Okay. It is certainly possible, the only question is how much time/money it is going to cost. I'll get to calculating.
Do you also want electronics to make the eyes light up? They are completely optional because the reflective eyes already look lit in daylight, but there are cavities in the skull to hold LED lights and a CR2032 battery.

Just a tip before you purchase a Robosen Bumblebee robot: Do not buy them directly from Robosen, because their customer service is extremely hard to get a hold of if the robot arrives with defects, whereas otherwise you can easily return it to the seller. Robosen's Bumblebee robot is currently selling at $500, but every now and then it is discounted down to $400.

Yeah I plan to shop around for one at a good price. Do you have an idea how much extra the light up eyes would be?

The electronics are finicky to solder, so I'd have to say $25. It includes a tiny switch in the back of the head to turn them on and off. Here's a picture of the top of the skull .
The lights are off in the Youtube video.

This is a picture of the top of the inner skull where the electronics go. The two small circles at the top are the LEDs, seated in holes that end just behind Metabee's eyes.

For $25 that's not bad. Were you able to come up with a quote?

I'm inventorizing everything now, and I'll have a quote for you tomorrow. My day job is taking up a lot of time this week.

Alright, I have a quote. Going by my day job's wages, including materials and Track & Trace shipping to the US, it comes down to $1120 in total.
I'm a bit torn between cutting myself short and selling this at more than it might be worth to you. The main factor is time: It is practically going to take me seven 8-hour work days to make all 38 parts. The only reasonable way I can cut the price down is if you were to clean some of the printed parts yourself, i.e. Using an exacto knife to cut away temporary support material, small blobs and strings, and filing some small spots.

If I knew what I was doing and I didn't have shaky hands that would be a viable option. The other option which is very unlikely is if you were willing to sell the current set of parts you already made in the video but I doubt you would go for that huh?

That would be kind of the same thing, as I would have to remake the parts for myself. Last option I can think of now is to put the entire project on the backburner, i.e. I make the parts during my occasional idle time, over a span of 4 months, then I can pretend it's part leisure time. What price could you part with?

Actually, I think I could give you at least some existing parts at discount. I still have a spare prototype of the skull that I'm not using, I have two spare hands that weren't 100% perfect to my liking, and I've been meaning to redo the feet in a different colour, so those I could part with more easily.

Ok that could work. And that prototype/spare parts still fit properly?

Yes. Here's a photo of all the spare parts that I could find.
https://artistdetective.com/metabee%20spare%20parts.jpg

The hands are a bit loose, but that's easier to fix than to reprint. The feet are the ones from the video. I have a spare helmet from the Super Electronic Metabee figure that I initially used (see image), you can have the toy along with it if you want. The skull was designed for that helmet. I found two spare buckle parts for the leg straps, and I happen to have copies of the front and back skirts made out of felt instead of foam rubber. The front skirt looks fine in my opinion, the back skirt looks a bit cheap maybe, but making it out of foam requires time painting.

If I deduct all these spare parts, I can go down to $780 including shipping, delivered in approximately one month. If you want it lower still (which would be understandable), give me 4 months to work on it whenever I feel like it and then I could bring it down to $600. I'm not doing myself any favours here though, so no lower than that.

What do you think?

Yeah that sounds very fair to me. Plus Robosen is having a $100 off sale right now so it's a good time to buy it too. How busy is your schedule? If it's all over the place we can do the 4 months if that's more convenient for you.

Yes, a $100 discount on Bumblebee is about as low as it gets, but I do recommend buying it from some other supplier with more responsive customer service. Other stores tend to follow Robosen's discounts. Amazon has it for $400 too now.

This week I'm still very busy with other projects. How about I deliver the Metabee armour in 2 months for $700? That would work best for me.

Ok. Would you be good if I pay $350 per month? I like to spread the pain throughout the months than all at once lol

Yes, that is reasonable. I could also send you half of the parts in the first month so that you know I'm keeping up my end of the deal.

Sounds good to me. Do you have an Insta or other social media we can continue to chat on? That way neither of us have to put any payment info out here.

We could continue through email. My address is patrick@artistdetective.com
I just received a roll of white filament for the arms, so I'll start this weekend.

Great I just sent ya an email.

Thank you for downloading the flagship ion blaster. I’d love to hear how this turns out for you and if there’s anything I can do to improve it. Thanks.

Will the robosen optimus head flap work for the Flagship model as well?

Not yet, but a version for the Flagship is currently being perfected and will be added to the files in a few weeks.

  • 1 Mi piace

Testing took a while, but the head flap's files for Flagship have now been added to the download.

Just purchased, printing as we speak. I'll keep you posted on the results
