Descrizione del modello 3D
During the Xenocide campaign, the Lost Legion soon learnt that the alien enemy fortifications relied heavily on energy shields for protection, making long range artillery barrages very inefficient at breaching them, but vulnerable to storming manoeuvres and close range blunt force. As such, the 'Ram' line of tanks was created, with the Mechanised Battering Ram being the first to be deployed, both an assault transport and a siege engine of colossal proportions that was capable of carrying even the bulkier Celatum pattern of armour. The earliest prototypes already proved to be extremely effective, and were soon mass produced in the industrial world of Messis, their brutal intent becoming the perfect fit to the Lost Legion's radical style of warfare.
This kit includes all the files necessary to print a Mechanised battering Ram:
- A PDF document with instructions to make sure everything is as intuitive as possible.
- Tracks divided in only 3 parts so the inside is both hollowed out and easy to cure, without overcomplicating the assembly process.
- A crew compartment with a detailed interior and two pilots, for those hobbyist who enjoy painting the inside of their tanks, but the option to be fully sealed off for those who don't.
- An equally detailed transport bay that also serves as a battering ram and can slide alongside rails and pistons to achieve such effect, with twelve 3x2mm magnet slots facilitating it staying in place.
- An articulated assault ramp with another two 3x2mm magnet slots.
- Side doors of the standard size for this type of tanks, making them replaceable with other designs from other brands and allowing for specific legion's iconography.
- Optional hull weapons, either a heavy machine gun or a dual laser, which can also be magnetised and swapped with 3x2mm magnets.
- Optional pintle weapons, with melta impalers, machine guns and missiles included. However, the attachment pins are compatible with all the other combi-guns from the Pintle-mounted Upgrade Pack or the Celatum ballistic upgrade pack.
- Articulated laser sponsons with slots for two 5x2mm magnets each.
- Optional articulated dozer blades.
The dimensions of the fully assembled tank without dozer blades but including sponsons are: 171mm (L) x 136mm (W) x90mm (H).
Impostazioni di stampa 3D
Both pre-supported .stl files and unsupported .obj files included for each piece, as well as a Lychee scene with all of them.
I printed mine in Anycubic's gray ABS-like V2 resin (water-wash) on a Elegoo Saturn 3 printer with 0.04mm layer height, 2.4 exposure time, 6>7 lift distance, 45>100 lift speed, 180>65 retract speed and 0,5 wait after lift. There were 5 burn in layers with 25 exposure time and 7 transition layers. However, these values can change significantly between printers and resins, so trust your own experience.
I test printed all the bits available to make sure all the pre-supported files worked, you can check out the make I uploaded for some tips.
