To ensure your custom car part survives the harsh elements of the road, high speeds, and extreme weather, please follow these expert printing guidelines:
Material (CRITICAL): Do NOT use PLA! Automotive exteriors face extreme UV exposure, road debris, and intense summer heat. PLA will warp and fail immediately. We strictly recommend ASA, ABS, or high-temp PETG for excellent thermal resistance and outdoor durability. (ASA is the absolute ultimate choice for UV resistance and strength).
Wall Loops/Perimeters: 5 to 7 walls. You want the outer shell to be incredibly thick and robust. The true strength of this spoiler will come from the thick perimeters, not the internal infill.
Infill: 20% - 30% (Use 3D structural infills like Gyroid, Cubic, or Honeycomb to provide multi-directional crush resistance and rigidity against wind drag).
Supports: Standard or tree supports are required for the interlocking joint cavities and the contoured overhangs that mate with the car's roofline.
Assembly & Finishing: Assemble the segments using a heavy-duty two-part automotive structural epoxy or a plastic welder. Once cured, sand the seams completely flat, apply automotive body filler (Bondo) to any gaps, use a high-build filler primer, and finish with an automotive-grade gloss black paint, OEM color match, or a carbon-fiber vinyl wrap!
