🦴 Dry Bones Has Risen!

Straight from the depths of Bowser’s castle, Dry Bones is here and ready to reassemble himself once again! This classic Mario enemy is now fully 3D-printable with all his signature skeletal charm.

But that’s not all, two alternate versions are included for even more variety:

Parabones – featuring flapping wings that bring this bony Koopa back to the skies.

Spiny Dry Bones – covered in spikes for extra attitude and defense.

Each version is designed for easy assembly and multi-color printing, keeping all the fun details that make Dry Bones a timeless Mario favorite.

Scaling Update:

Starting today, the 125% scale is now officially the new 100% standard for future Mario Bros. models. I decided not to wait until 2026, since designing at the smaller scale takes more time and some small parts (like Dry Bones’ shell pieces) can be tricky to assemble. So you will only see one profile, which is the official scale going forward.

If you want to match older Mario figures, scale down to 80%.
If you want to match the older 200% models, scale up to 160%.

Dimensions:

Dry Bones stands about 7.5 inches (190 mm) tall Scaling up shouldn’t cause any issues. If scaling down smaller, be mindful of the tolerances can change and the small shell pieces can be tricky to assemble.

Colors Used:

Bambu Basic: White, Yellow, Dark Gray

Bambu Matte: Bone white, Black, Desert Tan

Sunlu: Powder Blue (Or choose Bambu Matte Ice Blue)

Duramic 3D: Light Brown (Or choose Bambu Matte Caramel)

Spiny Dry Bones:

Bambu Basic: Red (Eyes), Dark Gray

Bambu Matte: Black, Dark Brown

Hatchbox Matte: Cherry Red (Or choose Bambu Basic Maroon Red)

Dry Bones
This profile includes both the classic version and optional wings to build Parabones.

Spiny Dry Bones
This profile features spikes and horns attached to the head, and you can also add wings to create Spiny Parabones.

Assembly tips:
The right leg has a small notch cut out.

Glue the legs on first, making sure they are positioned straight up and down so they fit evenly into the boots.

The right arm is the bent one and has a notch cut out — this notch should face up.

The left arm is straight and also has a notch cut out — point this notch to his right arm (which is left when facing him).

The small triangle shell pieces are all unique and have markings to help with placement.

Start from the top of the shell and move downward (you can identify the top by the arrow inside the shell pointing forward). The pieces are numbered 1–3 from top to bottom.

On the right side, the markings are: I (1), II (2), and III (3).

On the left side, the markings include an O to identify them as left: O I, O II, and O III.

Starting from the bottom up, the tan chest cage pieces are numbered 1–5 for their STL parts. Starting from the bottom up.

There are markings on the inside where the pieces slide into the body:

Piece 2 has one arrow pointing up

Piece 4 has two arrows pointing up

For piece 3, identify the bottom side by the flat printed edge.

Assembly Steps
Build the boots and soles.

Build the top shell and attach all the shell plates, following the instructions above. You can insert pieces 1 and 3 first, then add the 2’s after attaching the white shell section. The 2’s may not stay in place on their own until the white shell is attached.

Build the black shell by connecting the front part, inserting the pin, adding the middle white section, then the top black part. Secure everything with glue.

Build the chest cage as described above.

Attach the legs. The right leg has a notch. Make sure both legs are straight up and down.

Attach the arms. The right arm is bent, and the left arm is straight. Follow the earlier instructions for correct orientation.

Attach the gloves.

Attach the legs into the boots while standing so he stands level. The left boot is angled outward slightly more than the right boot.

Build the top and bottom head with the pin, then insert the eyes and nose pieces.

Attach the head to the body, and you’re all finished!
