The Mey Interceptor is a relatively new pistol crossbow with a magazine. It has an awesome build quality and shooting it is a lot of fun.
There are only two points, that I wanted to adress:
- no dry fire protection (like most of the pistol crossbows out there)
- some of the magazines have a too weak spring, so that too little pressure is applied on the last bolt so that it can slide to the front of the crossbow.
There are a couple of dry fire inlays out there, so why a new one? most of them have a cutout, that they are loaded while cocking the crossbow via the bolt release mechanism.
My approach is another: I wanted to stop the string as early as possible, so that less force can be applied on the inlay. Less force leads to less risk of breaking it.
In addition an inlay has the same effect as an bolt in terms of increasing the pressure on the bolt before.
Eventually 2 arrows out of 18 per magazine are sacrificed for safety and longevity, so thats an acceptable tradeoff.
Just print the inlay and insert it into the magazine before the first bolt (see pics and video)
