Hi. Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the kit. To be clear, are you trying to mount these pieces over the GW plastic knight kit?
I haven’t had any complaints with this kit in the past, so I’m a bit unsure how to proceed. My immediate thoughts are:
It’s possible your print is a bit overexposed, resulting in the print being a few mm larger than desired.
Alternatively you could be experiencing some resin shrinkage when curing the print, resulting in the print being a few mm smaller.
These might seem like silly issues but they can become more apparent on large prints like this.
I would also suggest checking your build plate dimension settings in your slicing software. If these are incorrect, it could result in the print having incorrect sizing and proportions.
Of course, these are just ideas. Any photos you can provide showing the misalignment would be a great help.
Humm ok will check these things in the morning then shrinkage makes the most sense as it seems a little to tight on the radius over the top an around the pipes.
Let me know how you get on :)
If in doubt you can always size the print up a bit (maybe something between 2 - 5%). Might give you a bit more room and shouldn’t be visually noticeable on the final model.
do you have any plans to do big knight weapon alternatives or shield alternatives?
Hi, I'm actually putting together some knight weapons at the moment. I'll absolutely consider making some shield alternatives too :)
Hello... I was just curious if you had any plans on doing a styrix armour set for the dominus Knight class?
Hi, I hadn't considered doing this but its a great idea, i'll definitely be adding it to my backlog!
Awesome... I'll be looking forward to it
Is the box dread pre supported?
Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately I haven't supported the files yet due to the large number of pieces. I do intend to add the supported files as soon as I find the time though!
Hello again living the new box builder please please pleeeease make if you can the furioso/librarian/death company box noughts for firstborn I trust you to make amazing results keep up the good work man your doing awesome stuff 😁
Hi! Thank you so much! I intend on doing another run of dreadnoughts soon, based on the classic, recently out of production chassis. I’ll be sure to include some variations of those!
That’s so cool to hear man really hope you look at the blood angels variants as I know they’ll be getting taken down off gw website soon will be sad to see them go look forward to what comes next
Hello, the dreadnought builder is great. I saw your post about legion specific project and look forward to them. I was curious if you will be making all the generic versions with the sarcophagus face plates?
Hi, thank you very much! I absolutely intend to recreate the classic sarcophagus faced dreads soon. I really enjoyed creating my latest dreadnought-builder so I'll likely get around to it sooner rather than later!
Hello love your dreadnoughts was wandering if I could make a request would you ever do the forge world ultramarines venerable box dreadnought ?
Hi! I've actually started working on a classic loyalist dreadnought builder, ultramarines venerable bits included. It's a project that's been on pause for a while, but i'm hoping to pick it up again soon!
Oh wow !! What a coincidence !! It’s defo one of my fav models that forgeworld discontinued I loved the banner it had !! Look forward to seeing the final product !! 😁
Hi, I'm really loving your Knights customs pieces. I've got a question: for Questoris pattern Knights do I have to get the medium Knight heads? Or the big ones?
Also do you have some raven mask/raven inspired heads for your designs? As I'm a Ravenguard player!
Thank you! The medium knight heads are designed to fit the Questoris pattern knights, while the big ones are designed to fit Cerastus pattern knights.
I don't have anything raven themed yet but i'm planning to make a new batch of skull themed knight heads eventually. I'll certainly play with the idea! :)
I really appreciate your work! :) Are there any plans to ever release the pig man in the version with the bathtub seen on Instagram? :) Thank you !!
Thank you! unfortunately, I've been unable to find the files for that model. Sorry about that! :(
However, I still have all of the individual assets, so I'll likely recreate it in the coming week!
Thank you for your reply! :) Separate files would be even better! :) I print them in FDM so they're perfect for this kind of model! :)
Hello ! I always love printing your models! :)
Did you see how to get the pig in the bathtub?
I would love to have it ! :) I have a spot on my wall waiting for him !!! :)
Thanks sooo much !!
which forge knight heads will fit on the plastic cerastus? there's the big/medium ones
Hi! The Big Forge Knight heads are made to fit the Cerastus knights. medium heads fit Questoris knights :)
unfortunately i printed big forge knight head 2 from the bundle and the underside socket doesn't have enough clearance for the mounting bracket on my castigator
Hi, thanks for letting me know. I've gone ahead and included some updated files with better clearance in the Big Forge Knight Head Bundle. This should fix your problem.
This issue likely occurred as these heads are heavily based on the of out of production ForgeWorld heads, designed to fit the old resin Castigators. The plastic kit likely has minor differences in the neck connection that I failed to consider.
Sorry about that! Please let me know if you have any further issues.
I am working on a 100% redemptor to iron clad conversion and was wondering if I am allowed to use your bits for a derivative stl
Hi, thanks very much for getting in touch and asking, it’s hugely appreciated!
Unfortunately I’m included to stick to the rules laid out in the licensing agreement regarding not re-selling/re-distributing modified versions of files.
Usually I’m not so strict about these kinds of rules but I’ve had issues in the past with people re-uploading files with very small changes under the guise of being ‘transformative’, ruining the fun for everyone 😩
Really sorry about that!
Hey do you have the other two plague toads?
Please make one more big knight head. Just bought the castigator one and cant wait to chuck it on my lancer
I'm aiming to create more soon!
Hi, do you do commission work? I love your Chaplain Redemptor parts and was wondering if you could create some Ultramarine parts. Many thanks
Hi, unfortunately I’m not taking commissions at the moment, however, I do plan on creating some chapter-specific redemptor parts soon, Ultramarines included!
Hey, glad to come across your designs.
Is there any chance on getting some weapons for the Forge Knights in the future?
Hello,
Love your designs. I was wondering if you might be interested in licencing some for commercial production and if so what would be the best way to contact you to discuss.
Hi, Thank you very much! This isn't something i’ve considered but if you’d like to send over a proposal, I can be reached at CrabConspiracy@outlook.com
Hi, are you planning on making any more legion specific contemptor part? IW shins and shoulders would.be awesome
Hi, I hadn't planned to but it’s certainly a good idea! I’ll likely try and create more contemptor parts between bigger projects.
I'm looking at your Classic Venerable Box Dreadnought. I don't see any arms on it. I actually acquired one of these in metal recently, and I'm struggling with the arms. Do you know where I could look for appropriate arm weapons? Your listing for your model doesn't show its arms.
Hi, my Venerable Box Dreadnought model does not include arms, as stated in the description. However, I do provide links to arm options from other creators. These include:
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/mk4-life-support-box
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/mortis-weaponry
While these arms will fit my model without issue, I’m unsure if they will fit the original metal sculpt without modification.
Thanks! I'll check those out!
Hi Crabcreatures
I just bought the Styx/Maggie Forge Knight Conversion Kit
Are there plans for a Moirax Forge Armiger Conversion Kit as well?
I've been scouting the web, so far no luck
Thx for your answer!
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/styrix-forge-knight-body-upgrade-kit forgot to post the link of the kit I was reffering to.
Also, I just read the Styrix Kit might not be "to scale exactly". Did you test print it at the scale the file that is online and fit it onto a Plastic Knight from GW tho? As that is what I am looking to do.
Hi, thanks for the questions. Sorry for my delay in getting back to you!
I do plan on producing a kit for the Moirax eventually, hopefully within the next month or two.
Regarding the scale of the Styrix kit, yes, I have printed and fitted it onto the plastic kit without any problems.
When I say it might not be to scale exactly, I mean I dont have the actual FW Styrix kit on hand for comparison, so there could be very small differences when compared side by side with the real kit :)
Thanks for your answer. Looking forward to the moirax kit, and have given you a follow. Will see to printing the parts and turning one of my unfinished knights into a mechanicum one :D
Thank you for your purchase. I will be waiting in case you need additional information.
Hiii! I'd love to see you take on the old da venerable dread from FW!
https://www.tabletopencounters.com/dark-angels-venerable-dreadnought-available-from-forge-world
and the icon set from FW too! https://blacklegionmarket.co/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2018/12/daicons.jpg =D
these would be absolutely amazing, and i'm sure you'd do them justice if you did them =D thank you so much for your amazing work!
Thanks for the suggestion! i'm definitely intending to create a loyalist dreadnought pack soon, DA venerable included. The Icon set is a great idea too, i'll certainly add it to my backlog!
awesome!! =D looking forward to it!!
when you do you loyal venerables, i hope you don't forget the metal venerable! this guy: https://frontlinegaming.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/gw-99110101321.jpg
Hi, one of my favourite classic OOP models is these dark angels mk2 torsos
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1011965349815652402/1153141225164128387/IMG_5336.png?
Would you consider doing those? I'd for sure buy them
Hi, thanks very much for the suggestion. The OOP torsos are definitely something on my list i'm hoping to start on soon!
Hi! Now that the classic sternguard kit is out of print, would you consider doing that as an stl?
Hi there, i got the Knight heads and they are absolutely lovely! Any plans to make the remaining variants that are missing, would love that.
Thank you very much! I'm definitely planning to make more of the knight head variants soon. I’ve got another Cerastus head in the works at the moment and there’s a handful of Questoris heads in my backlog!
Do you have any plans to make a Mechanicum style armour panel kit for Cerastus knights? I want to make all my Cerastus knights into proper Mechanicum variants, and a kit like the one you've make for Questioris that looks like the Atrapos panels would be fantastic.
Hi, I do intend on making some Mechanicus style armour for the Cerastus kits. I've been dabbling with some designs recently so i'll likely have something to share sooner, rather than later!
Sounds great, looking forward to it!
