Définition

Le Mécanisme d'Antikythère (appelé à l'origine Table ou Tablette, ΠΙΝΑΞ, ΠΙΝΑΚΙΔΙΟΝ) est un ordinateur astronomique analogique dédié qui utilise des roues dentées en bronze pour effectuer des calculs mathématiques spécifiques afin de simuler avec précision les phénomènes naturels des corps célestes, et de représenter leur emplacement dans le ciel à tout moment.
