I was watching Tron again the other night (both of them..) And I thought to myself, man.. why haven't I made a glowing Tron thing... I have everything I need right here.. So here we go! Now, I will put a few comments in the instructions so please read those if you either want to print this out or to modify it, as you can't right now as it's still a work in progress (i mean you can print it, you can't remix it yet) there are alot of makes I created around this theme which I was going to release in a pack, but I'll see if anyone wants the stuff first before I upload the big thing. Which is?
p.s see the black ABS I'm using? it's junk. If anyone knows of good Black PLA or ABS that has a very high tolerance I would highly appreciate a link! :)
This can be printed at 0% infill , no raft and with no supports AT THIS SIZE. If you go bigger, use some supports, or the hands on the handlebars may not print so cleanly.
My test print was using black ABS and blue glow ABS, the black is rubbish and i'm trying to get through it, very low tolerance.
What is the big Tron make I was talking about?
Have a look at the two individual STL files carefully.. . There is a specific reason the glowing side runs all the way through the bike and rider.
The glowing or second extrusion that runs through, as you can see nearly all parts are connected, there is LED light placements for the wheels, there is a tail also that has TRON written in it, like the light cycles have that is printed in clear with lights running through it, it looks great so far.
I am making/made a Tron Night Light light with transparent and black ABS, I do not like the white LEDS I used and have some new blue on order, plus I need to print the second side and then fix how the inside works in regards to projecting light throughout the bike using minimal LED's and battery placement, but the hard part is done!
patience grasshoppers as Viv would say :) I just want to build it and make sure it's an easy print and build before I put it up, and think of this as a practice run for you.
The TRON LED night light will only be able to be printed on a dual extrusion machine, sorry guys. I will work at a version with 2 seperate printable files that don't interlock for single machines, I have made about 20 variations of this mesh, which was a game mesh but a single OBJ so It needed complete manual dissassembling, and i mean total.
