3D model description
In my previous derivative of Rasle500's great design I just made a longer handle.
This thing make that handle empty, adds some threads an introduces a cap to be bolted in those threads.
Now you have a handle that is also an storage box!
3D printing settings
Hope you were not printing the previous handle !
Print "test handle.stl" to check that everything is fine when printing the threads. You may need to slow down your printer's rates.
Once that kind of nut that I call "test handle" has printed fine, you're good to print the real handle of taste. You'll find here the one that's 90mm long (120mm end to end). There are few more in the ZIP file and, of course, you can use the OpenSCAD script to change the length to taste.
Then print "015 test cap.stl" (it should print fine with the same settings than the test handle) and check how the two test parts fit. Too loose? Tight? Pick another from the ZIP file or make your custom one with the OpenSCAD script.
BTW: 015 stands for 0.15mm of gap between nut and bolt, ehem, it's not really true but we can just let it like this.
Once you have find the correct size, print the corresponding cap and are you're done!
Few more words (sorry)...
The ZIP contains the rest of stl files to complete the assembly, check out thing:16682 for more details.
If your printer is able to go higher than 120mm print a taller handle. The 6mm drill bit just fits into the 90mm handle!
I printed the handle with quite a weird parameters... Feedrate: 18, Flowrate: 205, layer height:0.34, 3 perimeter shells! 0.0001 infill. It's solid as a rock but it took 34cc and 3h45 to print (0.6mm diameter of extruded plastic)
