3D printing settings
requires a good knowledge of your printer.
Preferably print all the parts on the same printer in order to have a better conservation of dimensions.
Some parts may require 5 to 6 hours of printing time.
the adhesion of the parts must be controlled in general.
The modeling was tested on an i3 with a 0.4mm nozzle.
First layer must be 0.3 mm thick and must be even over the entire printing surface (autoleveling desired).
Layer height 0.2 mm for large parts. 0.1 or 0.15 mm for small parts.
No support required.
Fill to 15% if necessary. 0% on thin walls.
Brim imperative on thin walls.
Edge thickness for thin workpieces to 0.4mm (single nozzle pass)
Edge thickness for other workpieces 0.8 or 1.2 mm as desired
for the UNITED STATES marks of the RP1 tanks:
the printing will be done in two stages:
reverse printing on white backgrounds without contour.
then, without removing the part from the printer, print red letters inside out without contour.
The final rendering will be a red UNITED (or STATES) tape on a white background, in one piece, 0.3 mm thick, smooth on the playback side.
To do this, in the slicing software, use the STL print marks (v-shaped marks) to set the position of the two models in the same place (the two tips of the marks on the same slicer grid mark). In addition, the "v" marks will be placed as close as possible to the printer's home, so that the printouts start with the marks to purge the nozzle.
