Air Arms S400 S410 S510 adjustable target stock

3D model description

This is a fully adjustable stock for the popular Air Arms air rifle, it will fit a S400, S410, S510 and the S400 MPR. Starting at the back, the paddles on the but hook turn independently for comfort in the shoulder, the whole but hook can then be adjusted up/down for fine tuning and in/out to suit your arm length (Length of pull). The cheek piece is adjustable up/down for perfect eye to scope alignment, the hamster, or palm rest, can be slid back and forth on the two front rails for the desired position. To alter the height of the adjuster the spacers will have to be changed along with the fixing bolts.
Assembly is simple, starting with the main stock part, slide the two from tubes into the two holes at the front of the stock with epoxy glue, leaving 230mm exposed. From inside the stock, slide a M6 nut inside the channel until it becomes visible from underneath where the pistol grip fixes (see picture). Next pass the M6x65 cap head up inside the pistol grip and tighten in place, I add a drop of glue for good measure. Next bit is a bit tricky, slide the remaining 270mm tube and the 160mm tube into the rear section with some glue and locate the other ends into the rear of the stock with more glue. Probably best to check first with a dry fit to make sure it all lines up. Glue the 8mm aluminum rods into the cheek piece and the but hook slider, make sure you get everything the right way round, another dry fit would be a good idea. Next fit the cheek piece and but hook slider in place and gently clamp with M6x20 button heads and nuts. Unpolished aluminum works best as it clamps up nice and firm, I did try polished stainless but it would slide in and out under load. Now assemble the but hook by inserting 2x M6 nuts in the channels and secure the top and bottom paddles with M6x30 cap heads, remove the printed supports from the slot in the but hook slider and fit the but hook with 2x M5x25 button heads and nuts. Now just fit a M6 nut into each hamster clamp and tube end cap, slide the clamps on, pass the M6x60 counter sink screws through the hamster, hamster spacers and secure into the clamps. Slide the hamster to the ideal position and fully tighten. Just the end cap to fit and the stock is complete. Enjoy.

3D printing settings

All parts are printed as orientated in the STL files and should print without the need for supports, I print mine with 2mm thick walls, 15% infill and 0.3mm layer height with a 0.8mm nozzle in PLA.
