3D model description

100 Unique Snowflakes! No two are alike. Print some for quick holiday decorations or just because you can. Bonus: Small Snowflake 000 for 101 total!

I used Mathematica to generate the designs with random parameters. My code creates all 100 designs, checks each for connectedness, and generates all the STL files in about 13 minutes. I also used Mathematica to make the animated gif. Snowflake 000 was my test and print before I had it generate 100.

Included among the individual STL files are five that each contain 20 of the snowflakes arranged to fit on a 200 x 200 mm print bed for quicker setup. Each snowflake has a diameter approximately 40 mm (plus or minus about 5 mm) and a thickness of 0.8 mm.

All 100 (not in order) are shown in the photo with the red table cloth.

If anyone has interest in another unique 100, please contact me. I can create and post STL files, though likely I won’t print them.

I think Snowflake 002 looks like something from Star Wars. After printing 017, I also noticed the points on that one look like they could be helmets from a Star Wars character.

Also see my Snowflakes with Stand.

Note that Small Snowflake 000 is available on Thingiverse as a free download. This is the one in the photo with the quarter.

3D printing settings

I printed these with 0.2 mm layer height, 1 outline/perimeter shell, 2 solid layers top and bottom, and 0% infill. No supports. No raft.

I design with Mathematica, CorelDRAW, Fusion 360, and Tinkercad. I love my MakerGear M3-ID and my Palette 2S Pro. I have a Prusa MK3S as well. I started a 3D printing sub-site abbymath.com/3DPrinting, but it needs some updating.
