I'm looking at maybe enclosing the X5S in an IKEA Lack type cabinet in the near future and something that irritates me is all the stuff that sticks out beyond the basic cube of the X5S. I decided to remodel the spool holder as the OEM one is beyond shite quality and I also wanted the connection to the mains to be orientated to the rear also. This reduces all the stuff sticking out of the printer to the rear where there's already a pair of stepper mounts and adjusters and the recently moved BMG (Clone) extruder.
The spool holder is a ball bearing bolt type and is designed to mount on the bottom beam at the rear of the printer. It utilises the original M8 x 100mm bolt and a couple of the nuts. You will need a pair of M4 x 8mm cap head screws and a pair of M4 T-nuts to complete the mounting. The spool bolt requires a pair of 608 bearings to complete.
The PSU kit comprises of a replacement plate and a blanking plug for the aperture where the IEC socket was mounted in the base of the PSU enclosure. A couple of M3 x 10 and a pair of M3 nuts will complete the job.
