3D model description
I was getting fed up with the camera getting knocked out of position with many of the adjustable mounts on offer so decided I'd make a fixed one for my Tronxy X5S. The mount is designed to fit the wide angle standard Pi-Cam such as the one in the link:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00N1YJKFS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The outside dimensions of the camera are 25mm wide by 24mm tall. Hole centres are 21mm horizontal and 13mm vertical. The mount is designed to fit on the right hand bed frame and utilise the screw hole for the Z endstop adjusting screw. I don't use these any longer as I use the ABL probe to align the Dual axis and home the Z min. My mount is fitted on the right hand side but if you are still using your Z endstop limit switch on this side, I've mirrored the design so you can fit to the left hand side of the printer. There are also versions with the fixing screw hole is to the inside or outside of the frame as I realised that my frame is actually upside down since I rebuilt it with the reinforcing braces.
The mount incorporates a ribbon cable guide to ensure the ribbon hangs downwards with minimal kinking. I have my Raspberry Pi mounted inside an electronics control box mounted lower right corner at the front of the machine so the ribbon cable routes quite nicely into this box.
To complete the installation, you will require four M2 x 4mm screws and an M3 x 8mm. I use stainless steel cap head screws but you could use pozi mushroom heads if you want.
Feel free to comment and hope it is of some use to folks out there.
