Our purpose leads us to solve this problem in a low-cost, quick, and descentralized way through #DistributedManufacturing . We propose a #Reusable , #Customizable , #Modular , #Antimicrobial and #Antiviral #3Dprinted #RespiratorSystem made with #Copper3D high quality nanocomposite #PLACTIVE .

Our innovation is inspired by the scarcest product these days, the famous and scarce N95 masks.

Basically, there is a breakdown in the global stock of this product, and it is a basic necessity, especially for Healthcare personnel who are at the forefront of fighting this disease. In many countries the authorities have also recommended the use of these masks (or similar) on public transport. These masks, despite being effective, also have some problems such as a short lifecycle (about 8 hours), and have another even more serious problem. Respiratory viruses, specifically SARS-Cov-2 (COVID-19) can live up to 72 hours on different surfaces. This is a problem since using a conventional mask, at the end of the day we would have a high viral/bacterial load trapped within millimeters of our nose and mouth, further exposing ourselves to these dangerous microbes.

NanoHack was inspired by a great global pandemic. The most radical innovations are born from crises, which is why NanoHack is a unique design.

Manufactured with PLACTIVE® an innovative Nanocomposite developed with a high quality PLA and a patented, scientifically validated and highly effective Nano-Copper additive.

You can use this mask any times you want. The increasing use of single-used surgical masks and N95 respirators will have a detrimental effect in the ecosystem. To prevent this detrimental effect in our environment, NanoHack will be made with recyclable material.

NanoHeck will incorporate a novel modular fine particle filtration system manufactured with a material using copper nanocomposite proven to deactivate viruses. This novel filtration system includes a several layers with different geometries to provide an effective fine particle filtration. Furthermore, this system can house third party filtration materials, such as non-woven propylene, clothing, sponges, or textiles.

At 55º - 60º C to allow the use of hair dryers or warm water to give the correct shape of the anatomy of any face.

Prolong use of N95 respirators have shown to reduce lung capacity. These single-use respirators do not allow the regulation of air intake or particle size. NanoHack incorporates a modular filtration disc that can effectively regulate the air intake and the particle size. This system that can be customized by using third party filtration non-woven propylene, clothes, sponges, and different textiles to reduce the level of filtration.

NanoHack was conceived as a product that is 3D printed on a plane and then assembled by each user with very simple elements and procedures. Please follow the instructions to obtain a safe and correct use of NanoHack.

3D printing settings

  1. Print the pieces with 20% infill, without support or rafts.
  2. Heat the NanoHack to 55º-60º C with a hairdryer or hot water. The circular part has to be intact, that's why it's thicker so that it doesn't deform.
  3. When softening, bring together the nose wings and adjustment wings located on the lower jaw. You can glue them to fix them better if you want.
  4. Heat it up again and put it on your face for final adjustments. Make sure it's not too hot! If you feel that there is some part of the mask that does not fit well or is too tight, you can put a small piece of soft rubber in the contact areas.
  5. Screw the "cover" on with one or two additional filters. If you use a filter, you can use a circular piece (single or double) of a conventional mask (nonwoven propylene) or add a round facial cotton pad for makeup. Half pad can make breathing easier.
  6. Add the elastics/straps.

So you're telling me to print this mask, that obviously needs a filter to work, without telling me where to get the filter? Stop bull'*§ing people! You make me sick! Suggesting this design protects from corona is just evil! For what?! A few clicks and downloads? What is wrong with you? This has nothing to do with an N95 mask and even suggesting it does is just despicable! Shame on you!

I printed one, but I'm not really satisfied with result after forming. There are too big gaps.

Does anyone have the file for the completely assembled mask so the folding doesn't need to be performed?

Does anyone know how to prevent the grid pattern part of the mask from warping, I'm using cura lulzbot, and nothing I do seems to fix it.

Moreover, I glued with epoxy on the top and the bottom of the mask. Still to obtain a better seal with overlapping pieces.

Hello, I maked two. First with hot water: Really difficult to adjust. Second with hot air gun (about 110°C), with really good result! I added a adhesive polyurethane seal on top mask in order to obtain a better seal with the nose and the cheeks.

Muy buena la idea y la intencion, imprimi una como para probar y para mi es mejor que nada pero no me parece que vayan a servir para prevenir en especial si no son descartables.

I agree with 3D meltdown. After printing one out I found it impossible to form properly. Even if you could seal the edges, it is too firm to conform well to the face.

You should remove this from your website and stop giving people new way to kill themself. This is not safe, not sealed, no way to make it seal with your face.

People using this will get a false sense of security.

Pandemic is not a marketing tool

Important You need to screw the cap on the face mask BEFORE your shape it to your face. Also to get it to fold, use hot water or hair dryer. Their website has more instructions.

This was super difficult to form to my face and the threads warped so I couldn't get the cap to mate. It's a neat idea but I don't think it works very well.

This may be a litle odd but I am looking for some who might print me one of these masks. I am a disabled individual, confined to a a wheelchair, and with my age, I am directly in the range for catching the COVID-19 virus. I would like to be able to go to the store and do other things outside, like go to the doctor.

If anyone is willing to help, please let me know.

Printed two masks.
I tried to shape the first one with a hair dryer and the second one with hot water, making sure to respect the temperature indication.
Both masks had their threads slightly deformed, making it impossible to screw the cap in.

I read somewhere that you need a layer thickness of 2.5 mm. What is that referring to? Top layer only? Both top and bottom layer individually? Or combined top layer and bottom layer thickness?
