For those who are not familiar, a Hobo Reel is a bushcraft fishing pole. It is designed to fit in a backpack and has internal storage space for whatever tackle you might desire to pack it with.
I made this one with custom pipe threads so that the fit between the cap and the handle is water tight and does not require a gasket or o-ring. It also floats, as you might expect, so that is a plus.
This is a pretty solid little bit of kit for the outdoors enthusiast!
Printer: Creality CR-10 (stock)
Layer Height: I went with 0.12mm because I wanted the threads to be as smooth as possible. I tried one at a greater height and the threads looked pretty bad.
Supports: Depends, but my printer handled this print just fine without supports.
Infill: I went with 20% Octet, but you could do less and it would just be lighter.
I tinker, I make, I share, I don't burn down our home...so far.
