3D model description
Now presenting revision 2 of my rugged printable G clamp.
I have simplified the design somewhat, added a little additional clearance.
Uses an M8 nut (13mm) to insert in the bottom jaw and an M8 bolt can be threaded through. No glue required.
Feedback is appreciated.
3D printing settings
Support with moderate density suggested for a good quality overhang where the nut will seat. Set angle to 50 degrees as the cove on the outer edge does not require support.
With PLA my guideline would be:
Light duty - holding something in place with little dynamic loading:
1.6mm wall, 33% infill gyroid.
Moderate duty - needs to take some abuse:
2.4mm wall, 33% infill
Heavy duty - you should really just buy a clamp but OK: 3.2mm wall, 33% infill gyroid with 2x line multiplier.
