This is a remix of cederron's excellent design for improved z-axis supports for the FlyingBear P902 printer. The main differences between my design and his original design is that my design has more parts, but my parts can be printed without supports. The purpose of these parts is to simplify the assembly and improve the alignment of the printer's z-axis support rods and z-axis stepper motor and lead screw.
In the original FlyingBear z-axis support design, the two z-axis support rods, and the z-axis stepper and lead screw are all on separate blocks that are very difficult to align. These new parts hold the z-axis support rods and the stepper motor/lead screw assembly in one piece at the top, and one at the bottom, which insures that all three items will be parallel. Since I installed these parts, my z-axis performance improved tremendously, with virtually no z-axis 'banding'.
As part of this upgrade, I replaced the original spiral-flex 5 mm x 8 mm coupling with a multi-piece 'spider'-type flex coupling. This coupling has split-clamp type hubs instead of the setscrew-type hubs of the original coupling. You can find a coupling like this by searching for '5mm x 8mm flex coupling' on Amazon, AliExpress, or eBay.
The files that I uploaded also include '.stp' files of the parts. If you feel the need to change the design or dimensions of these parts, the '.stp' files can be imported into most (if not all) CAD programs. Also, perhaps these parts can 'remixed' so that they can be used on printers of similar design to the FlyingBear.
My most sincere thanks go out to Alex G. Sarriá of the Facebook FlyingBear Users Group for his original Z-axis support design. Alex, if you had not posted your design, I would not have come up with my Z-axis support design.
I hope the community finds this design useful. If you have any comments or questions about these parts, you can post them in the comments section, and I will do my best to answer.
