3D model description
if like me you happen to misplace your oil or fuel tank caps from garden machines or other, this time I offer you a 32-diameter internally threaded cap with a pitch of 3.75, I believe... To be modified according to your needs.
In this particular case it is the oil tank cap for my HYUNDAY HTRE2240 chainsaw, but I think it is potentially adaptable on a lot of commercial models, to be checked...
You'll find 2 versions, the first one (pink again...) very rigid in PLA.
And a second one in Filaflex (it's my first attempt with this material) as well as its little loop to avoid losing it again :)
I have to say I'm quite bluffed by the result of the Filaflex!!!
The surface state is not great because I printed it backwards with supports because of the small nipple on top. Maybe I could have printed right side up with supports inside... Give it a try.
!!! EDIT 25/08: All in all it's not a good idea to print right side up with the media inside !!! I spent more than an hour removing the supports in the threads, ARGH ! So the thread is really ugly and less precise. So we forget. Prefer the reverse printing and too bad for the less clean top :/
In short, if you need threaded plugs, it's up to you to experiment.
