This easy to assemble bracelet uses mini LEDs to light up charms.

The concept came about when my friend and I were walking home at night from a neighbor’s get together. We were walking close to the water and gazing upon the moon's reflection when my friend turned her attention to the adjacent forest. Tugging on my shirt I turned to see her pointing at what looked like dancing lights in the bushes.

I focused my eyes to see 5 or 6 small lights in perfect order hovering in the bushes. I tried moving to one side to get a glimpse of what was making the lights but as soon as I moved they disappeared. I move back to my friend and they reappeared in perfect order.

Whispering to my friend I questioned the objects when they started to move in a wave pattern but still maintaining their order. We were startled and amazed at the same time and after moving a few feet they just disappeared.

The next morning we ran back to the forest inspecting the bushes but didn't find anything. We dismissed it as the water ferries dancing in the moonlight but my curiosity wasn't satisfied. I wondered what could move light it that fashion so I designed this bracelet to reenact that enchanted night.

We showcased the bracelet to our friends and family and they loved it but no matter how many times we tried signaling those lights we saw with the bracelet, they never returned.

3D printing settings

The bracelet is easy to assemble and requires basic electrical assembly.

The charms are printed with translucent filament so the LEDs can light them up.

The PDF instructions have more detail and are part of the download.

Glue stick trick: Prevents curling of a print when you are not using a raft.

Before printing apply a thin layer of glue from the glue stick on top of the tape covered bed. Use a credit card (or similar) to crape and smooth the layer evenly. Allow to dry before printing. One application is good for multiple prints.

We printed items without raft but some prefer raft so we left it as optional.

###Print Items:

1. 1x BraceletBottomV1 15% infill, raft optional, no supports, speed 60, high resolution (slower)

2. 4x BraceletTopV1 100% infill, raft optional, no supports, speed 60, standard resolution (standard)

3. 8x BraceletCharmsV2 100% infill, raft optional, no supports, speed 60, standard resolution (standard)

###Objects needed:

+ 1x LED Flex Lite 4" long with 6 LEDs

  • 8x L735 batteries

  • Mini dimmer (optional) - to reduce voltage and control light intensity

  • Hot Glue - any all purpose craft hot glue

    Paint (optional)

###Step 1 - Paint (optional)

Get creative with your bracelet and paint a wild mystical design.

###Step 2 - LEDs

Secure LED in center bracket of BraceletBottom using provided guides. You can use multiple LED strips or a multi colored LED strip but we prefer one LED strip.

PILOT LED Flex Lite has an adhesive sticker on the back of the strip. You will have to stick on the strip with the adhesive to keep it in place.

Remember the bracelet will curl 360 degrees so apply the LED strip while the bracelet is curled.

  • Tin plate

    Bend tin plate as illustrated in diagram. Tin plate will keep the batteries connected to each other.

  • Wiring

    String the wiring through the battery housing. Cut wiring to length and cut away 1/4" of plastic sheathing.

    Connect the negative LED end to the tin plate with glue or solder. Glue tin plate into battery housing.

If you are using a dimmer connect the positive LED end to one prong on the dimmer. Secure the dimmer into battery housing with the other prong facing the battery compartment.

If you are not using a dimmer simply roll up positive end into a wire ball and place into positive battery slot in battery housing.

###Step 3 - Charms

Simply hot glue charms onto LED Flex Lite strip.

###Step 4 - Leaves

Bend BraceletBottonV1 hook sections down in towards the center to align with BraceletTopV1 plug.

Use a small blob of hot glue to secure each connection. Wipe away excess glue.

Place 4 leaves in opposing directions along bracelet

##Congratulations, you have finished

Snap in 8 batteries into battery housing

Wrap bracelet around wrist and push the clip into back end of opposing side.

Light up the night!
