3D model description
Very special but complete project:
Housing containing HR LEDs with random flashing to keep nocturnal predators away from chickens, rabbits and other backyard animals.
The randomness is adjustable in the widely commented program. The principle is that the predator doesn't get used to a regular flashing...it also disturbs the thieves this erratic flashing :)
Automatic start in the evening and stop at sunrise.
I enclose the wiring diagram as well as the text file (.txt) to be sent to the ARDUINO.
The LDR does not have a case, just 2 wires long enough with a heat-shrinkable sheath to "see" the day.
The Arduino does not have a box (there are plenty of them on the CULTS website).
The power supply has a Voltage of 5V for the ARDUINO and the LED's.
!!! I don't advise to take the 5V from the ARDUINO for the HR LEDs and supply the Arduino with its small 7,5 to 9V power supply, especially if you put 3 to 4 Red Eyes boxes !!!
A drop of glue will fix the LED's, the orientation allows to see under 3 angles the "Eyes" per box.
I don't guarantee it's the perfect solution...but I still have my chickens :)
3D printing settings
10% scale printing for 5mm LEDs, I think 20% works for big 10mm LEDs
In the STL file name "HT" means "Overall" and the following value in "mm" is the largest size to be entered in the SLICER scale. It is normal that the cover is smaller, it clips inside the case.
The cover has a pre-drilled hole for the cable to pass through.
Printing poses no particular problems, ideally in ABS if exposed to the weather. I admit to printing in PLA and protective spray paints.
The LEDs are not saturated in intensity and flashing, so an impressive lifetime ...so I glue the lid ;)
