This pump is self-priming, the PVC tube used can vary in diameter and thickness.

In Europe PVC pipes have an external diameter of 63 mm and a wall thickness of 3 mm, but it is possible to find pipes with a smaller wall thickness, especially in Togo.

In the case of thinner tubes, the clearance must be compensated for by the diameter of the washer that guides the PTFE.

To facilitate priming, a little water should be poured into the pump through the outlet hole.

It is possible to replace the 2 PLA printed washers with washers cut from food-grade plastic cutting boards.

For assembly, glue the PVC tube to the base with epoxy glue, the cap must be removable for easy maintenance.

Use silicone sealant to seal the water outlet, intake pipe and cap.

The handle can be covered with a 32 mm diameter PVC tube.

The bottom flap, inner tube or pool cover is cut out using the template.

The valve closes due to the weight of the washers and the screw.

Remarks :

Printing tests of the "filaflex" membrane were conclusive.

However, we do not have any experience with the longevity of printed parts.

The high cost of the filament and the too long manufacturing time lead us to the inner tube or pool cover solution.
