3D model description

Meet PokeMold the mold for creating plaster or cement pots in the shape of Pokéballs, a lovely way to bring your plants to life and show off your passion for Pokémon.

This STL file has been carefully designed so that you can create unique pots full of personality in a simple way. It is composed of four pieces to assemble.

Note: I have added a strategic hole in the inner cup of the mold, which will allow for much easier insertion and removal of the water filter piece.

Here are two models: one has a latch and the other does not. Use the one that is more comfortable for you.

Technical specifications:

Model dimensions:

  • Height = 106 mm

  • Width x Length = 160 x 160 mm

  • Thickness = 6 mm

Dimensions of the final pot

  • Height = 100 mm

  • Width x Length = 140 x 140 mm

  • Mouth diameter = 100 mm

I write down the steps I used to get the molds right:

MOLD POST-PROCESSING

1- Once the molds are printed I sand them a little.

2-Then, to all the pieces I pass a layer of epoxy resin. If they do not have resin, another option is to pass a layer of wood varnish. This is done once and the mold is ready for use.

This prevents the liquid from seeping into the walls of the mold and makes it easier to remove from the mold.

MIXTURE PREPARATION

1- Before preparing the mixture, you have to pass a brushstroke of release agent to the walls of the molds. I use ordinary cooking oil. But you can use petroleum jelly.

3-Assemble the mold with fasteners.

2-Then, we prepare the half-liquid mixture and pour into the mold. I do it in batches so the mixture goes in well.

With all these steps you should have no problem to unmold.
