3D model description
Here it is, a drinkcoaster with a greek key pattern and an owl inside. You can use the last 23 gram (2.09 meter) filament at the end of your spool, to print this model if you want to finish your last filament. I will use this coaster to put down my cup of coffee or bottle of water, cause that's what i drink the most. My print-time on this model was 2 hours and 9 minutes.
This is a standard size coaster (100 by 100 by 5 mm), to fit in my coasterholder:
3D printing settings
I have printed this model in Fillamentum concrete grey PLA. I have used 0.25mm layer height and 18% infill. I have used a heated bed at 55 degrees Celsius and my nozzle size is 0.4mm and was heated at 210 degrees Celsius. I have used the movement setting: 'combing not in skin' (Cura) for a smoother topsurface. Don't worry to use your own settings while this isn't a difficult model.
I picked a logo from my browser and have put it in svg format in inktscape. Opened the svg file in blender and made it a 3D object. In meshmixer i have repaired the file; and erased some aspects. In meshmixer i have also added a coaster. Than i have merged the coaster with the picture after scaling the picture. Saved it as a STL file and sliced it for printing. Cause the model has still some issues even after repairing it in meshmixer; i have decided to export it into Netfabb Online Service.
If you would like to know how i design a 2D picture (google) into a 3D model.
