I built this EC1515B clock kit several years ago and it has just sat around without a case ever since. There are other 3d printable cases out there for these clocks, but me being me, I wanted something unique. To my knowledge, no one has ever put one in a grandfather clock.
This is printed in multiple sections without supports for any component, so long as the pieces are printed in the orientation in which they are presented. I printed the pins with a brim, but if you can print these without one, I would highly suggest you forgo a brim. As small as they are, they are a pain to get off.
For assembly, you will need four 3mm nuts; four 3mm bolts, 10mm long; and eight 3mm bolts, 8mm long. Assembly is pretty straight forward. The finials are glued in place with pins. The topper is screwed to the main_face with 3mm bolts. The main_face is screwed to the central portion with 3mm bolts. The central section is glued to the base with pins. The spindles are glued in place on the main_face, aligning the corners of the spindles with the corners of the main_face. The clock itself is screwed to the main_face with 3mm x 10mm bolts and nuts. The main_face_lid is screwed in place with 3mm bolts. The finished product is right at 14" tall.
If you print this, I would really appreciate two things: 1) Please upload a [Make] and 2) It'd be awesome if you could tip me a little something for this model. I worked really hard on this one and I am pretty proud of it. If you would like to donate using bitcoin (I'd much prefer this method), you can do so via my address: 1DdWx5E86iQsVam361q3T4qMGKXdGBRCxx
I am a self-proclaimed know-it-all. I will tackle any project regardless of my experience, or lack thereof. Always ready to learn something new. Why a pepper? In case anyone is curious as to why there is a hot pepper embossed into most of my designs... My nickname is Pepper and that little pepper logo is a hell of a lot shorter than "Copyright © 2017 by Derek J.G. Tombrello" which is how I usually sign my work :)
