3D model description
Hi all I have been working on a rear cover for the Simucube 2 (Sport and Pro only) and an undertray to hide the wires at the back.
This is the solution I came up with.
Philippe's idea was a way to enclose the wires and to send them to the front of the unit so that they could then be cable managed down the rig.
Essentially making the wires on the back of the box less of an eyesore.
After a few iterations and actually speaking to the guys at Simucube, I then came up an with adequate ventilation system as the unit is cooled via convection I am happy to show this off.
It has a hole to be able to access the power switch on the side if you so wish along with a slot at the back that is positioned so that you could have the antennae sticking out of it, however it sits nicely inside the unit
Mounting this, the tray on the bottom simply slots over the bolts at the bottom of the Simucube and then at the back it has a tongue to sit inside of the back piece.
To mount the back unit you simply exchange the 2 bolts on the back of the unit for some longer ones to accommodate the back unit, we have set it up to be M6 x 50mm however this can be changed to any size you wish.
3D printing settings
This is a non structural part so I printed it in PLA with an infill or 10% on Gyroid
