Tic Tac Toe for my kids.

I wanted big blocky Xs and Os that fit just right in the board and stick there for storage when not in use.

Each square and each piece conceals four tiny neodymium magnets so they stick to the board with a satisfying clunk.

I designed this in Fusion 360. My messy f3d and step files are included for easy modification if desired.


3D printing settings

Nozzle: 0.4mm
Infill: 20%
Layer height: 0.2mm

To print this you'll need 72 little 4x2 mm neodymium magnets. You can get a set from Amazon here:

To get the magnets inside I used Cura's "pause at height" script to stop after layer 15 (this will depend on your layer height), carefully inserted the magnets, and started again. For the board I did another pause higher up for a filament change for the green grid.

I started with a single X to make sure the holes fit the magnets just right. They should be loose enough to get them all the way in (flush with the top of the print) but when they were too loose they kept jumping out. I used Cura's "horizontal expansion" to tweak it just right, and I had to do it again for each filament since they each expand a little bit differently.
