3D model description
It was the occasion to work on "bodies" and "parts" notions on FreeCAD and to try the interesting ShapeBinder feature that the software has for "parametric" assemblies.
You can find some advice on how to put each parts on your plate in the pictures.
It is just for illustration as nobody will make a mono or bi-color poke-box (if so please post a make!)
- cyanoacrylate glue
- 4x 3mm diameter neodyme magnets (max height : 3mm, I used 2mm height ones).
Depending on your settings, you may want to ensure the proper fit of the interface between the round black parts holding the button and the red and white parts before gluing. Other dimension should fit just like a charm.
Please be wise enough to glue properly the interface between the black parts and the red and white hinges part to consolidate the assembly before dealing with the hinge, as the hinges protusions are quite fragiles (and may require improvment).
Then, the hinge can be dealt with a 1.75 filament bit, after some adjustments using hex keys. To ensure a proper lock, just use a metallic part and a heat source to melt it in place.
And there it is! A middle-sized PokeBox.
I've added the FreeCAD original file for people interested by fine tuning of the things or assemblies, or by adding some logos or some kid's name of the thing.
