3D model description
This is a simple stand-off for a ceramic antenna GPS module to be snap-fit to VarunHeta's very cool Garud-500 DIY Drone design. If you wish to incorporate some autonomous functionality through iNav, or add a Return to Home or Follow Me feature through Betaflight and friends, you can place your GPS module in this mast for clear reception.
It is simply press fit into any corner's nearest-to-center arrow shaped holes, and is designed to be a tight fit with a snap-in edge on the tip. If the fit is too loose, you can always put some glue on the part that goes through the arm or install an M2 screw in the tip that protruded into the arm's cavity.
The GPS dome base is mounted to the rod with a M3 tapered head bolt, up to 10mm long. The dome lid simply snaps onto the base. No supports are needed in most situations. I would print the rod at a higher infill to ensure it maintains structural integrity, but the upper and lower dome can be done at a lower infill. 30% makes it quite durable to allow repeated openings without clips breaking.
As designed, it has a minimum of 16mm clearance between the dome perimeter and the tip of the prop, even if 10" props are installed. It would interfere if you install 12" props, but this craft was never intended for use with 10" props, if I read the author's description properly.
