3D model description

Exclusively on Cults: Retro Cartridge Game Holder for Nintendo Switch - GameBoy Style

The case uses the original game boy dimensions, although some details have been changed for printability.

The case has build in supports and won't require any additional supports, also the case itself is printed in place and parts are already correctly aligned.

The buttons and display are printed seperately and will be glued in afterwards!

"Button AB" and "Button SelectStart" needs to be printed twice.

The assembly is pretty easy, just glue in the additional parts (buttons and display) - see pictures.

Your printer should be able to print tolerances below 0.2mm for the hinges and snap mechanism to work properly.
Also if you still encounter problems I've also provided a low tolerance version for the main body.

3D printing settings

Printed-in-place
Works well in 0.2mm layer height and any material.
No additional supports needed
Print as aligned!

Woo hoo! 3rd time was the charm for me. I printed at .2 and then at .16 sliced in Cura printed on Ender 3 and my hinges fused together both times. Then I sliced it in the Prusa Slicer at .2 and printed on my Ender 3 and it was successful. The closing clasps don't quite line up, but I'll work around that. Thanks for the cool design!

Hey,

I absolutely love this design I would kindly request if I could have permission to sell this 3d print calmly or at least purchase a license :)

Thank you,
Harley!

Hello
I wanted to ask you if there is the possibility of having the gameboy without the hinges?
Because I'm not really able to print your project .. while with others I have not had all these problems.
or have the two parts divided?

Hello, yes that would be possible, I can upload that when I‘ll back at home on my PC

Hello. Can make a Model that is 1mm thinner on the sides? Or Scaled to 99.8%? If i scale it, the holders would be to small. I have a Prusa Mini and your model is 4 mm to large for the Printbed.

I‘m glad it works for you, thanks for the feedback!

Low tolerance is better for me regarding the snap closures. While my hinges printed fine and perfectly (on both versions), it seemed the tabs were slightly off on my print and was very very difficult to close. It's a wee bit tricky getting this one back open once closed but that could just be a "me" thing and not the print itself. I printed mine on a Prusa MK2.5S and sliced with PrusaSlicer 2.3.0. Regardless, I'm happier with the low tolerance version and wanted to thank you for uploading it!

The low tolerance should mitigate problems with the hinges if you have such problems on your machine.

I had problems with the hinges fusing as well. What is the difference on the low tolerance one?

@Hayabusa81:
I am using 15% gyroid infill and 45mm/s for perimeters (25mm/s externel perimeters) and 80mm/s for infill on PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 (beta).
I've just also uploaded a low tolerance version for the main body so you may want to try out that version.

The hinges are a wee bit tricky to close, but I managed. Is this the norm? Either way mine came out great. I recommend Prusa's Mystic Green for the screen, it looks amazing.

@NKPOLYMERS

Hello

I tried the print, but after 13 hours the result is unfortunately not excellent ..
the hinges broke as soon as I tried to close it.
what settings did you use for printing?

speed?
filling?

@Hayabuse81:
Its extrudr NX2 PLA grey, anthracite and silver for the case, display and display frame

Ne fonctionne pas les charnières cassent au premier essais

Hi, what color of filament did you use for printing?

Thank you both :)

It's 180.3 x 148 x 18 to be exact, excluding brim, and considering the many sharp corners in the initial layer you might need one. So I'd add about 10mm to each side

Thank you! It uses around 180x148mm.

Great model !
I was wondering how much of the bed surface this print needs.
Thanks

Now it works again, thanks to the creator (NKPOLYMERS) for quickly solving the issue!

Please try again, it should work by now, I've retested it myself!

Sorry to hear that, I`m reaching out to cults in this case, could be server errors, i'm not packing these zips, this is done by the server!

Can confirm, you get a corrupt file :(

Note for buyers: the only thing you get is a corrupted zip file :/
