Here is a video of the castle:
The castle is made up of one piece and needs only support structures under the bridge between the two towers.
You can scale the model up, I test it up to 128%, scaling down can cause problems.
Here are some tips:
If you have problems with stringing, you have to calibrate the retraction distance in the slicer.
I use 4 mm with my CR-10, this varies depending on the material and printer.
If you use Cura, you can set the needed support structure distance of protruding edges here:
Support — Advanced Setting:
Support X/Y Distance = "1mm"
Minimum Support X/Y Distance = "1mm"
I painted the castle with Tabletop colors and Tabletop painting YouTube-Tutorials.
You need only the drybrush-technique, this is not so difficult and it is suitable for beginners. You do not have to paint each stone individually, the dry brush technique will quickly paint only the protruding parts.
The structure of the path I made with fine sand.
My heating bed is defect, so I have a problem with warping, in the big version I fixed it with a plywood board as a base and wood filler.
Size: Width=13cm, Length=19cm, Height=8cm
Tested with PLA, 0.12 mm layer height and 5 Top layers.
Use enough infill to support the top layers,
I used 15% with Simplify3d.
I am a hobby 3d Artist since 2004, I will regularly design new models for 3d printing.
