poseable, articulated structure

This is a 3D printable industrial excavator themed desk lamp. You need an Ulanzi VL-49 RGB light for it, but included a connector part so you can assemble it without one.

BE AWARE that the tracks are only design elements. They are not moving. The base consisting of 5 parts is GLUED together.

I want to thank @Bugman_140 for the help with fake "hydraulics" arms. They are designed for 4mm steel rods. But if you don't have any.. it can be replaced with PTFE tube.

They are needed in three different lenghts: 60mm , 90mm, 110mm

Also I included a part to connect the showel to top arm if you don't have an Ulanzi light YET! :)

3D printing settings

I recommend mostly 0.2 layer heights. On the Big parts you can go even 0.3, 0.4 with bigger nozzles.
Only part that needs 0.15 precision is the hydraulic cylinder and the cap for it. Because of the threads.

Hi, my son loves the lamp and want it for his bedside table.
Are you planing to do some cover to make the switch more accessible.
I think about some Cover for the showel with a stick in the inside whos touching the switch.
Unfortunately i
m not able to do this :-(

Hi! Thanks for your comment. I am glad your son loves it. I think wit a little practice the switch is pretty accessible now too. Unfortunatley it would be pretty complicated to do what you mean. Because the on/off switch on the Ulanzi light is not a push button. It is a slide button with a very little edge.

Thanks! Yeah the showel.. for me it worked well laying on its back. The teeth pointing up. Using some supports.

How are you meant to connect the small hydraulic cylinder to the main frame? Its not got a connector end like the large hydraulic cylinder

Greetings! Sure it can be done, but you need to specify a certain type. It can't be a regular bulb because it would melt the plastic.
In the model there is an included connector between the arm and the showel that you can use without the Ulanzi.. then somehow glue in an other light source.

The rods are from bottom to top order: 110, 90, 60

I hear you about the orientation and supports. I am still figuring out what is the best way for the showel to use minimal supports.

Which cylinder gets the 90mm rod, and which gets the 110mm? The instructions don't show.
Also, I'm figuring it out, but guidance on plate orientation and supports would be nice. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to print the Shovel.

I am glad you like it. I have now three printed. :) Yeah I was thinking about something for the cable. One of the problems is that the micro USB cable you get with the Ulanzi is too short. And there are a lot of different diameters in those cables. But I will do a free clip-on addon for cable guides soon. :)
The rice is nice idea. :)

I'm still working on printing it, and I'm pretty impressed so far. I'm likely going to leave the USB cord plugged into the lamp. Have you considered integrating USB cord guides? I'm think it could be a "hydraulic" line.
Also, to add weight, I poured rice into a gyroid infill on the main base section as it printed. I'll see how that works.

My delta has a diameter of 280mm. The holes on the ends of the arm are on the bed, but the ends hang off the edge.

Would it be possible for you to cut the main arm at one of the struts on the side? Maybe add an alignment thing? It does not fit on the bed of my delta as-is.

hi again, both ender3 and ender v2 has 220 x 220 x 250mm build volume..i could make it fit at an angle but it would use so much filament as support.. :(
