Here's a simple camera / phone stabilizer design I'm working on in an effort to help me out with some film projects. It's nothing amazing, but its easy to put together and works surprisingly well considering I use AA batteries for weights.
( Please note the iphone holder is not my design I got that from the user Shiver. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:321541 as it was crazy quick and seemed to fit my needs perfectly.)
I was inspired by a gimbal design submitted by jbeale, but I remodeled & reinforced it so I would feel confident that it could hold the weight of a phone or small camera with no issues.
Additional items needed.
2x 1", 1/4"-20 Thread Bolts
6x 1/4"-20 Thread Nuts
1x 12" ( or longer if you like ) 1/4"-20 Thread Rod
The gimbal portion should be a little snug, I added some WD40 to loosen it up a bit.
Layer height .30mm
