3D model description
Here is an articulated robot, the Golem B-800
Free until halloween !
A marvel of technology that must be assembled in a very simple way.
Just fit the parts together with a little glue.
This allows you to paint the parts separately.
You can choose between 5 different heads.
the different elements of the robot are :
The body
The arms
The legs
The Head you have chosen
The 5 joints
The 2 cells near the head
For a simple construction:
- Glue the 4 arm and leg joints into the body inserts.
The 2 joints with the wider opening go on top**
The 2 joints with the thinnest opening go down
Glue the attachment bars into the arm, leg and head inserts.
Glue the head with its joint.
Assemble the legs and arms into the joint inserts.
glue the head joint to the body.
Glue the 2 cells in their notches.
Of course, it is better to paint each element before assembly for convenience and a nice paint.
Considering my painting skills it didn't make a difference to me... :)
Regarding the size, you can reduce the dimensions to 80%, but I think you should reduce your printing speed for small elements as well.
The model weighs 200 grams with 5% fill and was printed in PETG.
I applied a layer of epoxy resin for a better smoothing and glossy effect.
Don't hesitate if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoy printing this little Robot.
3D printing settings
A 5% fill will have been sufficient for this PETG print.
I recommend 10% to 15% fill if you are printing in PLA for better strength.
Layer height at 0.12 for the model in photo.
The finger joints require more precision than the rest.
The most important thing I think is to have a slow enough printing speed for the first layers as well as a good parameter setting regarding the bridges.
Personally I just reduced the print speed for the small elements.
I'm here for you if you have any concerns.
Feel free to share your settings and especially your photos because it would be a pleasure to see your impressions!
