First and foremost congrats to the designer, all parts fitted perfect and this model is amazing!

Printer is a Hictop Prusa i3 clone, with Bowden E3Dv6 upgrade. Slicing done with Simplify3D. Print settings are 0.2mm layers, with 2 perimeters, 15% infill, with supports AS NEEDED from build plate only. Speed is 35mm/s @ 210°C nozzle and 55°C bed. Printing took around 15 hrs combined. I did added to the design some windows to Optimus Prime's chest. The waist was printed with a script for color change to yellow using S3D. Highlights on the face, grill, feet and emblem were all done with a Pilot Silver Marker. Super Glue used is the Locktite Gel Super Glue.

Hope you guys like it and give it a thumbs up!

Hello Wes.
Yes, go ahead and use the photo. :)

As far as the waist go, i used a script in S3D (Simplify3D) to make a color change. What this does, is pauses the print, moves the head to a corner, waits for you to manually change filament, and resumes back where it left off. You can find my explanation on how to do it on my video. https://youtu.be/OiixypnOS8o

Now, this can also be done on other slicers, such as Repetier Host. For Repetier Host, you can manually insert this on the code between the layers you want his to take place.
G1 E-3.00 F6000 ; retract filament
G1 Y0.00 F9000 ; move print away
M84 E ; disengage E motor
@pause print
G1 X0.000000 Y0.000000 F7000 ; home X and Y axis in case position was bumped out
G1 E0 F6000 ; engage E motor

Hope this helps.

Hello 'Chaco'! Thank you for posting your awesome Make of Optimus Prime. Please help me to understand how you printed the waist. 'Script'? 'S3D'?

Also, can I use your photo(s) on my Instagram account? I will give you credit for the 3D print and photo.

Regards,
